I just purchased the FileHub two months ago and it’s wonderful!! My wife and I are going to Oahu in two months and I can’t wait to see exactly what it’s capable of. Great video and information, keep up the great content.
Just FYI - I purchased the RP-WD009. Seems to back up my camera files fine with limitations (1) 1TB limit on backup disk (2) The USB-C port appears to be for charging only (3) Manual and website do not indicate how to update software - looks like I might have to install the App for that, but not sure. Haven't tried and don't have a need for the other functions.
Recently bought a RAV power WD09 - when tried to transfer data from SD card (128gb) to external hard drive the icon did not flash and so I assumed no transfer was happening - the card was pretty full with data - is there a data limit on transferring files?
Thanks Dave. Iv been searching for a device like this to download my sd cards while away , carried a laptop around the Alps 2 years ago to download but this is so much easier i use a Tomtom bandit which holds 128gb cards so going to Spain this year so this was a great video for me and i expect many others to. So once again thank you, i have subscribed and will tell friends to take a look at this to.
Desperate question, I've just ordered this, thinking to cancel my order before it arrives because I can't find any information as to why the app requires my location permission . Please advise me
Excellent video with the information I looked for. However, some Information I still looking for: I also have a Sony FDR X3000. I can't transfer 4k-files to my Iphone because IOS can not handle those files(or Sony does not allow this). Can I transfer via the filehub those files from the SD Card directly to the Harddrive? And if yes, are the log-files (GPS) transferred as well? Is the filehub able to transfer RAW-files from a SD-Card to the Harddrive? May be you can help. Best Regards
Max Meierdierks yes - i often move 4K files from the X3000 to my mobile drive via this route. The GPS data us held in a different folder, so a one-key backup is the route to go, then the GPS data transfers as well...
Amazon is now charging 59.95 lol After running out of them I guess they saw they could get 10 more dollars from people. Put my order in for one. Do you have the dimensions of the Ravpower Filehub?
Thank you for your review! I have a question about the one key backup. Does it backup all the files in the SD card or just the new one? For example, if there are 10 files in the SD card has already been backup in the last round, are they still will be copied to the harddisk when I press the backup button? Thank you~
@@flephoto I can well understand that - the workflow I use is such that I'd be "backing up" 128GB at a time, then formatting the card for further use, so incremental backup isn't an issue for me. Losing those damned little Micro SDXC cards, though, is! SO, the fewer I carry, the better... ;)
The thing I am having trouble with is getting the thing to connect up to the wifi - not the wifi to link it to my iPad/iPhone but to the outside world.
@@FLoaB well thats good to know because thats how i wanted to use it. but like i said before, the manufacturer says it can overheat the usb connection.
AFTER ABOUT THIS I TRIED TO TRANSFER A VIDEO AND I KEEP GETTING THIS ERROR AFTER 14 % TRANSFER THEN I TRIED IT THROUGH THE COMPUTER AND IT SAY "FILES LARGER THAN 2GB CANNOT BE UPLOADED TO " AND THE VIDEO IS ABOUT 1:46:29. JUST SO YOU KNOW I HAVE THE MODEL: "RP-WD009 / 2019 VERSION NEW" WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
@@mtjoleolkaelle So even from your computer you cannot transfer files greater than 2GB to the SSD? Is that with the SSD plugged directly into the computer? If so, I don't see how it's the fault of the WD009. I have a 5TB external drive attached to the WD009 and it happily accepts any sized file...
FLoaB I was able to transfer the video through connecting my iPod on the computer with the Samsung SSD card on the computer as well , it was transferred with no problem so I figured something must be wrong with the RVPOWER , OR. AM I MISSING SOMETHING!
@@jerwidiedeguzman1079 it's just a hard drive, once you're connected to it, so pretty much anything. Not sure I'd be trying to run apps from it, though.
Best review I have seen for this device to date. Good work mate
thank you for this video. I have learnt a lot. I bought the Rav a while ago and have not used it at all.
Excellent tutorial Dave - I have just bought one and this is helping me set it up.
Helpful stuff, might get myself one thank you. Nice to see it communicated with luma fusion.

Thank you - Oahu, eh? Not jealous at all! I'm sure the FileHub will serve your needs...
Today I tested the RAV WD009
9 GB MICRO-SD-CARD to 2,5“ HD in 8,5 minutes in 5G.
This is right for me for journey!!
Excellent - glad it does the trick for you...
Sir I really appreciate this video as you have explained so breifly.. Thumbs up 👍👍👍
Malik Awan thank you! We aim to please!
Thanks for plugging in an SD card!!!

Happy to oblige...

You're very welcome, of course...

it's 4.4 x 3.0 x1.0in - quite tidy... Is that Amazon.com?
Did you not think of using the 5G option and increasing your file transfer times exponentially?
Were you able to transfer data through the MicroUSB port on the RP-WD009? Could you give me an example? Thank you very much!
Nope! You mean as a card reader attached to a desktop or laptop, I'm assuming. I just had a try, and it doesn't want to work that way.

I'm pretty sure it's not incremental - seems to be the whole card at once. That's where it loses out to the WD Wireless drive.
@@FLoaB Thank you for your answer. I have checked the WD Wireless pro video, seems more usable for me. One key backup function with 2TB storage.

I use a file hub plus it sits on my network and I stream films from external hard drives to my Roku stick plus
The WD-009 is very versatile. It's going everywhere with me!
That’s cool.
How do you do that exactly ?
Some people are saying that this skips a few files now and then when using the button.
epicmoviescores not seen that happening...
where can i get a firmware update ?
excellent video. just the info I needed

As an access point, you mean?
noooooo manufacturer says do not use it with a usb drive whilst charging or running from the mains
Well, it's done it no harm whatever in the 11 months I've had it...

my wd hard drive has security features like asking for a password. will this be able to work on that or i have to turn the password off?
Luma Fusion can remember any passwords, so it’s all good...

yes, perfectly.
All files or only pics and videos?
