Right, ok, I am back for the grand finale of the massive overgrown transformation. If you haven't been following along, originally I went around to the customer's place to do a quote, but the estimate was a lot more than the customer expected, mainly due to the size of the backyard. The customer said he would have a talk to his wife about the cleanup and let me know the verdict. After a couple of days, I decided to offer to do the whole property for the budget the customers had set for themselves, and they were delighted with the offer. If you are wondering about the type of grass here, it is a blend. More than likely some type of ryegrass and fescue. This section took me around 10 hours to complete, with 3 trips to the landfill and about a tonne of material taken out. This is part 3 of 3.

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
    Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
    Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working. All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved.
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
    Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
    1. Currently, I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k on a good ride on mower.
    2. I don't have anywhere to store it.
    3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on in there.
    4. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering we always take the green waste away.
    5. I will get one as soon as all of the above are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
    Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.

Sorry I'm late to the party, George, it's just been one of those weeks. You know, I can't fathom how you do this all alone, but you do, and you do a better job than any others; it must have taken hours, a lot of energy, and it's evident that this yard involved a massive amount of work, collecting and removing ubiquitous debris, and patience, which you seem to have in abundance. I've gotta say it again, because I'm so awed by that wicked little mower you have there; it seems to tackle even the toughest, tallest tufts of grass. An awesome video; and don't think for one moment that we don't realise the amount of time put in to editing videos also, because we do. You're one in a million!

You've given them their yard back free of rubbish and can now enjoy the patio and their barbecue again. By the looks of the amount of soil covering that patio is has been many years since they've had that opportunity. You provide a service that goes far beyond just clearing a yard you give the client a sense of pride again. I hope they are able to maintain the spaces that you worked so very hard to return. I saw a comment about showing your videos in schools to show the meaning of hard work and how it pays off. That's not a bad idea, really. Even corporations could use your videos as an inspiration and reminder of how to solve critical problems in the workplace.
Assessing the situation to see where to start, breaking the problem down into manageable pieces, working through and thoroughly completing each piece before moving on to the next while taking a quick moment at each transition to glance back and assess the progress so far. And stopping to handle the big problems that arise (like the big tree) as you get to them. No putting them aside - just plow on through and get them done before continuing any further. And so forth until the problem is solved. A quick overview and you can see and correct any loose ends.
George, you're actually a philosopher! Your work and how you approach it is a great road map for life in general and for each bit of it, each situation, we encounter along the way! 🌿🌿🌿

This project redefines the term, "hopeless," but you, sir, have managed to transform this space into something that is peaceful and inviting. I hope the neighbors will express to you their appreciation for keeping their property values up by no longer having their yards butting up against a real eyesore. Bravo, my good man, BRAVO!

Perfect conclusion to an epic series! I could hardly believe all the surprises hidden in that thick, overgrown mess. Love the way you share the little treasures! Where did all the pathways come from? Didn’t see that coming. Excellent pruning of the big tree on the fence line. Can’t figure out if the cement bordered area is a bed or retaining wall, but it sure looks good. You are so good at what you do, and a pure pleasure to watch. 👍❤️

George, this was an incredible transformation!! I enjoyed all 3 parts of this series. It breaks my heart to see you work so hard and not get the pay that you so truly deserve. You are a very kind man, and I admire you so much. I don't think I've ever seen so much trash removed from a yard!! WOW! Thanks to your hard work, the owners now have a yard to be proud of, and I sure that they can keep it like this.

It’s Saturday morning, and I’ve been struggling since sunrise to keep our three acres alive in this 100 degree Mississippi heat with no rain for 2 weeks. To keep my 73 year old self alive I came in exhausted and found to my delight a new video from George!!! 😀Now thirty minutes later, a cup of tea and toast have revived me physically, and watching George work so hard and diligently has revived my spirit!! I’ll go out and try again!! God bless you, George!!! Loved that transformation!!❤️❤️
