The cave is closed to the public. Sign states that the site is 'closed for the time being
The cave will re-opens summer of this year (but you will have to pay)

Samantha F for EU citizen that's really easy, you only need an ID (for the french) go on this website to check what you need: www.mcc.is/english/extra/immigrate-to-iceland
