How Temu Used the Super Bowl to Take Over America
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 23 янв 2024
- In 1984, something unexpected came across people’s TVs screens as they watched the Super Bowl. Droves of brainwashed people marched through an apocalyptic world. Some might have recognized it for being reminiscent of George Orwell’s popular novel, 1984. Talk about impeccable timing.
In this ad, the inspirational spark that would set these people free was something new, something different - Macintosh computers, freeing the brainwashed minds from IBM’s ubiquitous personal computers. The ad challenged the world to ‘Think Different’, Apple’s slogan that would define the brand in the coming decades.
If you watched the Super Bowl in 2023, you might have come across this ad from a company that seems to be in a position similar to Apple in 1984. The company, just like Apple, is in a position where it’s coming up against a giant in the industry. The ad, like Apple’s 1984, was designed to get customers to challenge the status quo. The ad featured the tagline “shop like a billionaires” and showcased high quality items at a price most would consider almost impossible.
This is how #temu 's Super Bowl Ad is disrupting an entire industry.

please dont tell me it took 8 minutes to realise that this video was an ad.
i was at minute 4! goodbye aperture!
it took me the same time, I feel cheated by this lol
@@ardxtme too 😢
Hope he likes the free shit😂
Its sadder when you realise he’s promoting it as a youtube sponsored video. An ad within an ad
The fact that a channel like Aperture (generally credited with being intelligent and "in the know") painted Temu in this form is dystopian.
Enlighten us then. What's the real Temu like?
what’s wrong with it
Ze Bluetooth has deesconected! Ahahahahahahahhhhaahhhh.....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HH
@nvmffs within weeks of ordering bike accessories a Chinese woman contacted me about a bike at her address. I requested pictures, she wanted to be my friend...I called her out and haven't had responses back. I'm wary of buying Temu items again.
@@astilealavatica1404 That's creepy but what does that have to do with Temu ? It could be a coincidence since accesories is not the same as bike.
Plot twist the whole video is an ad
I'll just stick with our EU quality standard so i don't poison myself. I was expecting a little criticism, not a ad from Aperture.
Poison yourself? Do you realize you buy the same stuff but more expensive and from a reseller?
@@nvmffsyou obviously have done no research on temu
@RioRock7 what's your research

@@aaronjennings8385Temu owns a parent company named pinduoduo that is made for Chinese buyers, the have recently been investigated for spying and tracking customers and having child labor, this could give you a clue as to what Temu also does since it's targeted towards Americans.
Apparently not even Aperture can resists making an ad for Temu. Shame, it was a nice channel.
Okay but temu is actually a pretty good app
Youre overdramatic as hell 😂
I mean he has to make money
@@im.piradeyeah, but just be honest with it and say it is an ad video
@@liceagadavidI agree but it does say sponsored right on the preview
I loved aperture, the philosophy, the shower thoughts, so much, a hidden gem of RUclips. Aperture seemed like a genuine person. Shame to see what he’s resorted for and I worry for other creators.
Why are you acting like you were born yesterday? I mean, he's been doing this for ages. Just like any other big youtube creator.
@@nvmffs you literally have to go to every comment calling Aperture out to explain why he had to sellout?
This video begin with a temu ad

The title should be "how Aperture sold out"
Nice advertising bro
Why are you acting like a complete newbie? Pretty much all of Aperture's videos are ads. They're made around the ads he has agreed to present to his audience.

Just watching how adding one word created this mess that to literally every side has never been a mess in the first place the shallow and deeper level
I never thought i’d see Aperture sell out like this, sad to see really
I DESPISE Temu
It's everything wrong with consumer culture.
Unfriendly UI, questionable labor practices, low quality products, misleading advertising, cheap knockoffs, wasteful practices, and thrifty spending.
I am a man who rarely spends, and when I do, it's always with tact and purpose. I'm prudent with my money and as shrewd as a businessman.
Temu is the antithesis of careful planning and smart financial sense.
And the items have lice on them! I discovered little white things all over inside the bag anð on the item. I have sores on my head an body. Nobody will believe me . I can't get rid of the bites and the lice are like something made in a lab!
This is such a low quality AI generated ad for Temu and the fact it came from Aperture is what kills me

Exactly, I'm disappointed
@@O_Chilavert they get paid .ro do .
@@Traveler1424I wonder how much it took for temu to get him to make this video.

A socialist channel called Second Thought recently made a video about why so many RUclipsrs are quitting
In this capitalist world, i get the feeling even Arperture had to sell out to pay his bills
This video is flaccid, and my soul can feel pain in his as he likely grimaced while posting this video without any critical review

Temu, it’s the global version of 拼多多, no surprise about the cheap price cause its base on IP theft and our cheap labor, since most product are made here in China
@@kasim7929because they are send directly through 阿里巴巴, same factories in Southern China here, people working 12-14 hours a day, and I day off per month, why do you think it’s so cheap

@@matthewboire6843 absolutely correct - but beware of using Chinese owned software... this includes software like discord, which the chinese company Tencent has part ownership of. Having said that, I use Discord on a daily. Just some info worth knowing, which makes me trust companies like Amazon more... they do all use cheap labour though and pretty terrible working standards.
Why does anyone think this is a "thinly veiled" ad. It says SPONSORED right on the video card.
Unless that was added later???
Noticed that myself
The last part.. yea idk either but you know
He should have said that in the video

Every item on temu is of the absolute lowest quality that you can imagine

Why is everyone crying that this is an ad? Do you guys work for free?
Cause Temu is a horrible company
Because temu sells your data and is a terrible conpany
didn't expect this tho... but this does answer some of my doubts. I used to think there is no way for, idk like temu, to make a sustained profit, but this business model does convince me a little bit.
Temu's shipping costs are subsidized by our taxpayers. The Chinese government claims a developing country status which because of international postal agreements means that Chinese companies are literally paid to ship stuff out. The ones who pay for it are us.
Taxes payers pay for all the wars too.
So… what are you going to do?
Carry on paying?👀
@@RedGreenehuh???? Where did you get that, in all the research I’ve done about them I have not found anything that actually backs that up, they might say that but it’s just not true. They’re constantly loosing money on every order just to get their name out, exploiting underpaid workers, and have violated MANY data privacy TOS that has lead them to get suspended on many app stores.
Don’t believe everything in this video, it’s full of half truths.

This is an Ad for Temu
Can you tell me how do you make your .
I want to learn.
I really want to know
How do you get your footage.
Dude, you can't just tell RUclips the video includes paid promotion. You have to actually tell the viewer that and what the paid promotion is. Viewers see the little "Includes Paid Promotion" message at the top and assume it will be be addressed later, or they don't even notice it because of how commonplace it has become. Reported for misleading or spam.
You made this a fucking ad.
On my home page it should this as a ad
Amazing video
Well, yes it is your choice to buy where ever you want but you should point out that the major points in the prices are made with forced labor and selling your personal information.
Then you realize that you are paying a much greater price and let other people pay for you with literally blood.
This is no theory this is the truth. Inform yourself before you just wink it away it is damn interesting and important to recognize. There are dozens of evidence reports and documentation about it.
What are you talking about? First of all, there is no personal information to be sold. It's obvious you haven't purchased anything from Temu. Second, what forced labor are you talking about? Are you living in Medieval times?
@@nvmffsplease do your research, lol then come back at me
@@nvmffsfirst of all, go watch the video “Why Temu is an Absolute Nightmare”
You must be sheltered or really young cause we literally learn this stuff happens in school. Forced labor, slavery, and child labor still happen. It happens in all countries in South America, a bunch of countries in Africa, China and a bunch of countries in southeast Asia.
You do YOUR research.
For example a Hershey’s chocolate bar is less than two bucks. Chocolate is INCREDIBLY difficult to harvest and prepare to be turned into chocolate. To go to a factory, it ALL has to be done by hand. So how is chocolate so cheap? Cause they pay the workers in South America almost nothing.
We all buy things that were made by people in absolutely horrible conditions all the time. We just choose not to think about it because out of sight out of mind. Amazon does similar practices to Temu now too so that sucks.
@@nvmffsalso Temu literally got taken off of the Apple Store because of violating their terms of service regarding data privacy. 😂

What a waste of Aperture. Expected considering the whole drama of investing in aperture being a scam
We appreciate how well you've articulated your insights. We hope to see more impactful topics.
i would be concerned since your still giving data to a company legally bound to work with the MSS.
I really thought it was an other account trying to scam people into temu. But no, it’s my dear aperture… what a waste, I loved your channel, but how can you support this ? Inhumain labor, overconsumption, stealing data, etc. I know you got to make money, but with how good your channel was, there had to be other options…
What was disruptive was the same exact stuff for 1/3 of the price. Not junk.
Didn't watch the rest of the video because of the ads 😅
How much did they pay you for this ad 😮😂
I think no matter how you hear the words in this video, they are just meant to inform you. I stepped back and tried not to lean toward any particular opinion on temu and just tried to understand the information. Perspective DOES matter.
It’s full of half truths, almost everything said in this video is just wrong about why their prices are so low
Something has completely changed About this channel
He has started behaving very strange And it started since when he did 24*7live RUclips for some days.
Has he been hacked by Aliens 😐
Most of the early fans detected this was happening on the first video after the one he made on memes about 2 years ago now. That was when his first corporate sellout happened by a large media company that had other clickbait science spam channels. He deleted his personal instagram to push a more corporate style feed. It has been happening for long, I'm afraid.
Before Judging Aperture I hope his situation is OK
I just don't buy much of anything anymore.
I have stuff.
after seeing all this temu's good temu's bad thing, I'm still using it... so far so good, never had any issues
the site wide average 2 star rating says otherwise

I was like what’s going on w/ Aperture??? What’s the need to advertise this video? Now I know.
I hope I'm wrong but in the whole video, there's no mention about a Temu sponsorship, this is dystopian. Unsub lmao
I stopped watching this channel for a couple months. Now, I'm several minutes in [to this video] thinking I came back just to watch most of a 9 minute ad. No disclosure that this video is an ad or sponsored, just 3 hashtags at the top of the description. What a disappointment. Aperture"Thinking" is here to say tmu good. Peace.

Yeah that’s just not at all why their prices are low. They’re low cause they exploit underpaid workers and actually loose money on most of their orders.
Amazon does the sameeeee thing 🫤
Except for the fact that temu sells your data and has child labor, yeah! It's great!

Amazing how much computers have changed the world! Could you imagine not using your phone to watch everything, and comment about it? You would get so much more done. If only we could have the self control to use it only for calls, messages, and information. Take all the leisure out of it, and focus on your life instead of focusing on apps. LMFAO! Good luck!
True that. I think it has been unethical from media companies to make their platforms as addictive and hard to put away as possible using data from psychology, a field whose purpose is to study the human consciousness and learn to fix problems it has. Talk about controversiality. 🤟
I well remember the time before and most of the differences between now and then add up to a life, more connected to the moment you were experiencing. like the narratives of life went from well-written to really lazy and derivative narratives. Game of Thrones last season type stuff
Temu is everything this channel should hate. Dang.
Why do Americans watch ads😂
