It's been sprayed underneath with undercoating to hide the rust. Not saying Maple Motors, but whoever did the car. The glove box latch was also a giveaway that there's lots of rust.
@@fta1976 Did you check out the drive shaft and the latch on the glove box? That car has quite a bit of rust on it. I believe most of it has been covered up. It is one of my all time favorite cars, but I wouldn't buy that one.

This car needs a new owner with the budget to bring it back from this condition. Love seeing the Firebirds and T/A's!! Keep up the great work Maple Motors!!!!

Burt Reynolds struck a deal with Pontiac. In addition to $$$ he was to get a brand new trans am every year for life. Well a few years up the road. The dealership that “Pontiac “ was dealing with informed B. Reynolds that he would not be getting the the new Trans Am any longer. True Story!!!!!!
Believe or not at 25k for she is still a project car and I don't care what anyone says, for these cars are going away in the world today and I see les and les of them being worked on today. Like a peace of gold, so take care of them and they will age like a peace of gold for the value of them will never get old.
You should watch auction price's for project car's then you'll understand why $25k was a mistake $15k at best because the engine can still be remodified to perform and look like a 25k car.🤔
A very good friend of mine had a 77 smokey and the Bandit edition. Had the 455 and posi rear end. Definitely one of the baddest cars I've ever driven. A very sweet ride. Great video as always Nick. RIP Billy Ross Bridges

Factory 400/4 speed---I like it! I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure the cloth seats were part of the SE package. I really miss my '79 T/A----66K original miles, dark blue with the rare white interior
love the T/A I had a 78 in High School, Would love to have another one someday, Love the bungee cord battery hold down. Custom , Hoping to buy a classic from you guys someday.
For everyone pointing out the issues that take it down from perfection and quoting lower prices based on that... If this car is at least solid and workable like it seems, then I think $25k is in line! This is a legit SE Bandit car, and the correct year, which is highly desirable. Nice, finished ones go for $50K to $60K, and this is one you can DRIVE while you work on it or drive as is and let the patina be proud! If you can find a nicer '77 SE for the same price or (a similar condition one for a lower price) then post the link!
OK... maybe not an actual SE unless that spoiler was sourced from another T/A. The decal 'under the paint' strikes me as a '79 or newer decal, not a '77 non-SE.
That rear trunk lid is sitting high and is needing to be slammed because the trunk weatherstripping has just been installed new. I know because I just did it on mine and have the same issue. Solution, slammed it shut and put several 5 gallon cans of paint. And cement bags on top of the trunk to weigh it down and maintain pressure for 7 days straight until the weatherstrip adhesive cures completely. After that, With time and usage it will squish down and even out.
They are tricky... I put a set of roller rockers on my last one... what a pain... One valve at a time, however, they never gave me any trouble once they were set...
Does that car have silver spokes on front of it and gold on the back? Man some people don't need to work on cars they ruin the value more than help it...that trunk lid is ruined
You can but it's gonna have lots of issues that need to be fixed. The upholstery is sure to be trashed and in need of everything new. From the dash, carpet, door panels, headliner, seats, all of which cost about $5k to redo new just that. Then engine probably needs an overhaul, new brakes, and misc parts
. But then seeing the flaws I could not give you what you're asking. I can try to call you if we can work it. Seeing that I would have to drive a couple states to look at it and have it transported.

Yeah that car's paint needs some attention. Needs a good buff job. With couple of layers of finishing polish done with a buff machine. And the last stage of a good wax. Will the luster out.

The real Bandit car had a chevy motor in it. The pontiac motor lacked the power for the stunts. There were many cars used in the movie.
Four speed got to love it

4 speed heck yeah
From the looks of that line on the roof, I wonder if it had T-Tops before .
So it's WS4 with WS6 wheels then, going by the rear drums, plus some rust. All the same...

I wonder if it’s a clone or a real SE with PHS documentation. That is a huge factor in the price. If it’s real, I might be northbound and down!
