People don't understand how massive Wipeout was on the culture of video gaming. I'm fully serious. Its hard to imagine how different this was back in the late 90s. This shit was at the bleeding edge of a brand new rave culture and then went straight into the fuckin PlayStation? It seriously challenged the perception of what gaming was and who it was for. So important. Love that fuckin game.
DUDE IM SAYING LIKE, it makes me so upset to see how almost nobody even KNOWS about it, its one of the most influential games in graphic design and aesthetic ever, and i never see it mentioned anywhere?? Any time i do its dismissed as a slow f-zero clone
The artwork absolutely smashes it. I had this game before I got my PSX and used to just gawp at the manual in my hands, dreaming of the day I could play it, whilst playing the soundtrack in my head on repeat. Smashed it.
@@paulbolstridge4347 I was pondering writing a script for a Wipeout movie. It would be set in the year 2197 during the beginnings of the FX300 league era and tell the story of a rookie Feisar pilot (a British women) named Evelyn Johnson. It would be a standard sports movie plot with a bit of political intrigue too.
I love how 4:16 builds up to the finalizing crescendo starting at 4:42. From there onwards it's just brilliant. And the perfect peice of music to trance out to when playing the game. I always thought this track had a sort of Egyptian vibe to it though :D
After so many years I still look back when I played this game. Gives me goosebumps. Was an amazing feeling … high speed pared with excellent music! Wish there was a remake … every game remodeled and put into one!!! They were stoopid enough to kill the wipeout series!!!

Contender. Eliminated.
27 years later and this videogame soundtrack is still better than 99% of albums released today.
damn straight
100% man.
The artwork absolutely smashes it.

This on my brothers Playstation was exactly the reason I discovered Orbital and Fluke for the first time. And I will forever enjoy their music!
This also includes Chemical Brothers and Leftfield. Caught them all just at the right time.
Not heard of the later man!! 😉
Orbital, Fluke, Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Propellerheads, Underworld... Wipeout soundtrack was a goldmine.
And yet Cold Storage was most original of them all
This game came out at the "right" time-1990s raving it!
It was a good time, before social media turned 90% of everything to shit. Yeah, looking at you as well, Google.
the thing is... this experimental is trafics away from those simple beats
This is certainly the theme for the infamous F9000 era (read the backstories for that era of racing).
This version of P.E.T.R.O.L is my all time favourite track!!
It feels like the theme for Quirex and Tigron
@@unicorntomboy9736 Yes, it does!

Ah, Wipeout. F-Zero X's cooler cousin.
Nope, it's the older more mature and adult cousin.❤ the one that is not still playing video games but looking for god using lsd.
@@manuelbarreto7032it’s just cooler
fair enough lol@@manuelbarreto7032
Style wise Wipeout, Gameplay wise F-Zero

Glad someone else has noticed this.
*insert smiling gigachad meme*
I noticed this too. This track is just great.
Music theory in action! Good job, man.
one classic track from one classic album ""INSIDE"" lov it!!
Or 'In Sides' as it's actually called.
This will always be the theme of Qirex and Tigron to me.
It just feels right. It has a somber feel to it, yet it’s engaging and catchy, like flying a Qirex or a Tigron
Nice! Orbital made a lot of good tracks, not to mention this awesome track was also used in the movie "Pi".
One of the best video games soundtracks of all time!
My favourite track of all wipeout games... The part from 02'08 to 3'00 which comes back at the end... Riding my Feisar flying car... ❤🔥
Ce titre est le meilleur de tous les Wipeout confondus. Il est sombre, futuriste, psychédélique...
ce titre m'a surtout fait découvrir leur album In Sides et leur ep "the box"
if there was ever a tune for a futuristic anti gravity racer...!!!!
The whole soundtrack was pure class, I think CoLD SToRAGE's tracks match the quality of the big names too
@TETCOM what haaayyle no

I love how they remade twice Pure and Pulse, then Fury, but not the three first wipEout and Fusion

This track was great for maps with jumps. Made you feel like you had longer airtime :D
This suits Qirex REALLY well!!

TDR™ fucking slayed the graphic design here. Oh my god I'm spunking all over it.
Too right. I love their old PWEI artwork too

all of the soundtracks on this game were catchy. But I think that this is the best one.
Right
I think 2097 and Fusion have the best WipeOut ost in series
Shit. I played it in my cd player back in the day. Twas got me into the Hartnoll brothers. Greatest electronic artists ever.
"Jesus Christ" this track is so freakin Iconic!!
Only GOLD from Orbital

Still too futuristic in 2019. I hope it's not too futuristic for Cyberpunk 2077.
Here from 2020.
Can confirm : still too futuristic.
Oh boy...
Sorry bro.
Definitely. It sounds dark and far off. This song pretty badass.

I think I actually prefer this version over the In Sides one.
And only 1 Dislike so far, I've never seen such a pure upload on yt

Oleg Matis more like Tigron. Its more sutable for their illegal actions. And this track returned with tigron release on the new gen wipeout.
@@tomekl3476 yeah seems correct
Was this song available in the US release of wipeout or no?
