Great Podcast .. Fr Gregory.. you are so easy to listen to and humorous, which we all need in the day and time. Fr Joseph said some very practical and inspiring words . Thank you and God Bless You both !!
This has been a really helpful talk for me, particularly two points. Like Fr. Jospeh Anthony, my prayer life is very casual and I just start talking to the Lord as if he were a friend sitting in my living room. I have started doing this with other saints as well. I have worried about that being adequate enough and I do say formal prayers like praying the rosary every night and adding some prayers to specific saints, not every day but as I feel led. But I really liked the part about seeing saints as friends. I have three uncles of varying generations spanning the last 400 years all priests whom I believe are all in Heaven. One I know because he's beatified. The other two were a Canon of a cathedral and Apostolic Protonotary and the third was a very holy Evangelist and all three were well educated theologically. I started looking at them as my particular "cloud of witnesses" among the larger one and I pray to all three and call them "uncles." The beatified one and the evangelist were related. I think the Blessed was the great-uncle of the evangelist. They're on my mother's side and the Canon was on my father's. As a child, I got to meet the evangelist.
I would like to give you an 11 star review, that is a 'This Is Spinal Tap' reference if you've seen that one, you might recognize that reference sort of😂
You're like the Sisters of Life singing at the Villa Maria Guadalupe! I learned that Saint Dominic died with the Cistercians who recently employed John Pawson (looks like your James Brent). Pawson's Minimalist ideas are great for secular living approaching our holy afterlife. John Pawson built several churches as well as homes. I cooked the John Pawson buttered eggs & spinach for Hungarian philosopher Bence Nanay, also at Oxford University Press like James Brent. Bronx DHS is not Washington DC DHS like Bronx Immaculate Conception is not DC Immaculate Conception.
lungs full of water yet still came up gasping for air and breathing…. do all of you clapping seals just filter out the BS and pretend it’s not there or actually believe these words?

The last coronation was on June 2, 1953. I was alive for it, but only just--about an hour, I think. Yes, that was 70 years ago. Yes, I am old.
This is by far my favorite episode so far and I’ve watched just about all of them lol
I can only manage $5/mo right now but you got it!
Go Doc Rivers, happy to see you back in Bahsten

Note to self, never travel with Fr Gregory….

"Lives of the Saints" by Alban Butler
If your priest's homily is bad you can just take a convient toilet break at that point.
