35 years ago I awoke to almost zero hearing in my right ear. However, a very loud ringing replaced my once good hearing in that ear. Over the years I've tried dozens of different "treatments" to ease that annoying ringing to no avail. I finally just gave up. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out there's no cure. Further, I've heard dozens of "causes" that all are different. No one appears to know, and we're told many different things. I don't believe anyone really knows why and they're often guessing. Bottle line, I just live with it. It'll stop ringing when I quit living.
Useful video Rachael as those of us with hearing loss & tinnitus do experience variable levels of tinnitus depending on circumstances. I also experience a slight increases and decreases in hearing as well, with my impaired ear either noting more dull / muted or slightlt more able to pick out wider frequencies. Is this variability reported by some of your other patients and is there an explanation to this - may make another interesting video?
Interesting video. I have noise induced tinnitus since 1982. I also have a heart murmur, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and anxiety issues. I also take blood pressure medication. I do notice my tinnitus gets louder under stressful situations and do not stay hydrated or eat regularly. I guess i need be more observant of what factors i can control to make my tinnitus more manageable.
Why are there not any clinic that focus solely on tinnitus and in helping people pen point what the root cause is because a lot of people are suicidal because of it. Me being one.

I have realized even exercise makes my tinnitus temporarily worse. I was guessing blood pressure.
