Probably ten years ago when I bought 'The Promise', the record store guy (that I used to like but now I find creepy) said that their gong tree was stolen in Victoria BC around that time, so that lines upto 2002/2003...but maybe Vancouver? Anyone back that up?

That's awesome! You must have been one of the 20 other people in the audience... a few more showed up for Devendra's set, but even then it wasn't a huge crowd. I just wish I had a decent mic back then to better capture the audio on some of these early sets.

This performance of suha is so beautiful, my god
A comment from a years ago said that they had some of their gear stolen so that's why there is only guitar and Jamie is singing certain music parts.
This is completely accurate... sad but true and made for a very unique set

tbh I haven't seriously listened to Xiu Xiu for years. when I got to Suha it came back to me immediately, always a favourite...
Holy fuck, that rendition of Fabulous Muscles is so great
The squeaks in sad pony guerilla girl Made the song a lot less sad lol
My husband's reaction whenever Suha is stuck in my head and I start sing-yelling it
It's strange to watch a concert of my favorite band from the day I was born
ngl i think i like this version of fabulous muscles more than the album version
comin back cause this version of suha is *chef kisses*
I agree this performance of fabulous muscles is amazing i come back to it every couple of weeks
The audio is great on this compared to so many other live Xiu Xiu performances. And he plays Fabulous Muscles AMAZINGLY.
yes!
This version of Suha is fucking heartbreaking
the guitar kinda sounds like it has a compressor+reverb ordeal due to the audio quality. I love it.
Oh lord that rendition of Suha *man squee*
Simpler times, but still so complicated.
saw this live

@@mogwaifeartexas i'm glad you captured it since that venue is no more. it was the end of an era for me when it closed.
