*Go on, be honest...who thought FIFA 96 with its 3D pitch was the bees knees back in 1995?*

I had this on the Sega Game Gear, it was ace at the time!! Then I got a PS1 and got Olympic soccer followed by Soccer 97 and didn't touch FIFA again until early PS4. ( was hooked on pes during PS2 days)

Only played the PC version at the time, when FIFA 98 came out that really felt like proper football games had arrived (i know there were probably earlier and better games,..I never had ISS... back then, people forget, these games cost a small fortune to buy. And the 2nd hand market wasn't what it is now, where you can scoop up all the football games you want for literally pennies (starting with last year's one!)

I never bothered with this at the time. I had Sega Worldwide Soccer which is far better... Great review tho.. I'm not sure why you don't have 10k subscribers by the way..Quality channel 👍

You're right WWS97 is FAR better! But let's be fair...it's not hard! lol Still got plenty more football/soccer games to review too....I'm really pumped for FIFA 97...🤣🤣 As for hitting 10k subs, what helps smaller channels build is channels with larger audiences helping them out with mentions in their videos, a luxury I do not have! It's pure grit and determination form myself to try and gain a bigger subscriber base!

great channel. I had this game on ps1 and it was poor at the time. Actua Soccer was also rubbish too. There were so many different football games during this era and most of them were toss

@@gameshack1985Yeah, the 16-bit ISS games are still amazing. Superb animations.
I have never played the PS1 version of ISS Deluxe.😢

still play the PS1 Formula 1 game, perfect balance of realistic simulation and arcadey-videogamey physics

It was incredible at the time. The very first every 3D football game and the first with commentary. I've a feeling you were born in the 2000s.

Can you not hear my voice? 😂 Or not seen my other videos? I'm a 40 Yr old brought up on 8 bit games! 😂 It has a 3d pitch, but terrible sprite players. No-one could say the players on Fifa 96 looked better or had better animations than the ones on ISS or ISS Deluxe. They mop the floor with Fifa 96.

At the time, we really didn't care honestly. I was a kid with every football game you can imagine and to me, this was mindblowin. 3D Graphics in my football game, from here i just stopped to played ISS or any 2D football game. I spent hundreds of hours playing leagues in FIFA96 @@gameshack1985

Only played on PS1 but it was an okay game back then. Felt very 16bit in terms of gameplay but the stadiums and sound were amazing. The use of colour is good too.
But it was way behind Striker 96 and Goal Storm for gameplay.

when i played fifa 98 on saturn i had recognized saturn was never meant to be 3D console

    • @gameshack1985
      @gameshack1985  9 месяцев назад +1

I just think the main problem was developers not having the skill or time to use the Saturn's chips correctly. Many 3D games run fine, I really believe if the Saturn had sold more we would have seen more games running in the Saturn's high resolution mode at some point in time looking great.

I think this looks better than 97, in terms of animations and stuff. Especially goalkeepers. You can also kinda tell it is an upport of the 16bit games. I actually think the original Fifa on megadrive looks better than this as the camera shows the game better.

@@gameshack1985 I think maybe with the exceptions of the ones that are cartoonish takes on their sport, like the NBA Jam games and Punch Out. I don't really consider racing as a sport, so take that as you will.

    • @vinnyfanneran3116

International Track and Field, Hot Shots Golf, all the ISS Pro/PES soccer/football games, Formula 1 and Formula 1 '97 (I consider motor racing to be a sport, soz), Ready 2 Rumble. It's a very short list of sports games that are still worth playing.
I actually did an article about this, and played dozens of PS1 sports games as research in 2022/2023 so it's still very recent and fresh in my mind.

    • @vinnyfanneran3116

I played this when it was new, I looooooved the fact that it had real player names. The only games I had played before with real names were management titles and Sensi.
The game is terrible shit though. FIFA got its act together for 98 and 99, but neither are playable today. The ball physics are awful, it just sticks to your foot, the ball doesn't slow down after you shoot until it hits the ground. The way the ball curls is just dreadful. I have no idea how I enjoyed them at all back then. I always knew ISS Pro/PES titles were better, but still enjoyed FIFA 98 and 99.

Sega started failing in FIFA games or any football(soccer) games from Saturn all the way to Dreamcast, no good football game was made. Only on Genesis.

Steady on, I don't remember saying I expected that from Fifa 96. Maybe you haven't watched my other reviews, but I talk about how they hold up to this day, I don't pretend I'm back in 1995 as I review it! 😂
