Saw "Monster" yesterday, what a wonderful film, maybe his best! Beautiful performance by the young actors (and the entire cast). And what a nice and warm hearted man he seems to be! Very sensitive and introspective, just like the film.
I recently discovered him, and what a GREAR filmmaker he is. So glad and lucky to be a part of a generation where we have directors like Hirokazu kore-eda.
It would be really appreciated for people watching the Q+As after the fact for the audience member asking a question to have a mic so we know what they asked (or have the host repeat the question before the director/actor answers). It’s the one thing that’s really annoying about film fest Q+As that are re-broadcast on RUclips. I’ve been to TIFF before and it also annoyed me being in the audience a ways away from the person asking the question. You do it for press conferences so how about for the general audience?
They at least could have asked audience questions in a box or something. Ther would probably some interesting questions to pick. plenty shows do that, granted usually directly answered, but it wouks for interview questions collection well too.

he's actually the greatest of all time. i'm not kidding.
I absolutely love Kore-eda's films and can't wait to see them all. Shoplifters in particular blew me away.

adore Kore-eda films, still walking especially
I was like yass Yori kun will lead the overthrow of the Japanese bourgeoisie when i saw the Working Class t-shirt
it would be helpful if the audience questions are repeated - esp as this is a recordimg fior platforming

so did he say something abt the boys surviving in the end?
I came here to know that as well. I don't think he talked about it here.
I wish that they survived though
