The monster cards are really useful actually. If you collect a specific amount of monster cards (from one monster) you can equip them (up to 3 of them) mostly to boost the strength of certain abilities or other things. You can equip them in the card menu where you also see how many of them you collected.

The goal is to use the buttons to get her into the sunbeam which distracts her from attacking. The cabbage looking things become the monsters. The red seeds are thorny spikes.

Basically risky boots attack her town and shantae gets fired from town guardian the mayor of scult town quickly forgets that and she is offered to become a full fledged genie but at the price of leaving the world for good she refuses. In risky Boots’s revenge risky set in motion of a plan to get rid of Shantae’s magic. It works.
This game takes place after Half-Genie Hero. Amber... why do you keep thinking there are prequels? So far there haven't been any, and as far as I'm aware Wayforward have no plans for any.
The heart squid squishing for a heart container might sound disturbing, but it was different enough to not make the process a ripoff from the legend of Zelda series where you just find the pieces.

To Amber. Amber is doing great with the voice acting for the most part. But, my pet peeve with it is that Amber is too high pitched at the end of words. My advise: Try to talk more like you would talk naturally, and make tiny, small differences to it. Take a little bit of time on it. Practice makes perfect. It's okay, some people are naturals at it, others are not. So it's not like I expected you to be a professional voice actor or anything. This is your lets play after all. So i shouldn't juge you. Sorry. You do you! I might be too picky. Amber, Luke you guys are amazing through, and through!

Jokes aside, you were suppose to move the Water Lily Siren underneath the Sunlight to expose her and let the flowers fall down(pretty obvious if you...you know... saw the sunlight... which you somehow didn't). I mean no offense again, but... yeaahhhh.
