  • Why We Are NOT Going Back to TGI Fridays Glorietta Makati! TGI Fridays is an American restaurant chain focusing on casual dining. It was started in 1965 by Alan Stillman in New York and now has locations in over 60 countries around the world, the first Philippine branch was opened in 1994 by the Bistro Group at Glorietta Mall in Makati. The chain is known for its appearance, with red-striped canopies, brass railings, Tiffany lamps, and frequent use of antiques as decor. The company is a unit of the Sentinel Capital Partners and TriArtisan Capital Partners, who purchased the company from Carlson Companies in May 2014. Its name is taken from the expression TGIF. The company asserts that it stands for "Thank Goodness It's Friday". Our favorites from the menu include Friday's Mozzarella, Buffalo Wings, Caesar Salad, Grilled Salmon, Chicken Fingers. For Cocktails they used to have the Friday's Coronarita - Margarita with a Corona beer but unfortunately the pandemic has caused them to stop offering this refreshment!

Good to know... thanks for the info. I think we’re better off preparing ribs at home. 1000 php for half a rack really is appalling.

Thanks for the comment, yes you are definitely better off making baby back ribs at home, first and last time! 😢

I stopped eating there because of the pressure they put on you to buy their si call discount card. I come to eat not be pressured to by a card

that's why they've been closing stores in the US pretty fast.
even 10 years ago, I saw the writing on the wall.

@@Hourphilippines Don't you guys have Wingstop and/or Buffalo Wild Wings over there? Since you guys have Popeye's and even Shake Shack over there now.

Hi we had Wingstop it closed down before Pandemic. Buffalo Wild Wings is here with a few branches, we featured them already franchised by the Bistro Group as well! 😀👍

I have to agree it’s been mediocre. It used to be way better when it was new here. Quite disappointing.

Friday’s just so over rated. Used to be ok. No effort given to the food’s presentation. Almost like they’ve given up.

Thanks for the comment Sudoy, we have to agree with you, it’s taken a turn for the worse over the years, no more loaded potato skins, quality is not consistent and lacking ingredients in their dishes celery sticks with buffalo wings for example and fresh basil on Fridays Mozzarella. Rubbery Chicken Fingers, Stale Potato Crisps and a mediocre baby back ribs all in one visit was the last straw! 😢😤😱

Just went to Fridays in Ortigas Robinsson and they screwed up every single dish, including serving us drinks with rotten garnish. Never ever again a Friday's here in Phil.

that is not a pound of wings, there's like 9pc on that dish ... a pound of wings usually has 12 to 13 pc ... how do I know? I've been prepping in a kitchen for 10 years.

Their restos under bistro group have the same low food quality and Over priced too. We never gotten back to all their restos and yes, annoyed with their promo card priced at 1k! 🙄

Thanks for the comment and sharing! The issue is too fast expansion without retaining the properly trained kitchen and service staff! 😅

Now that's a bit of a statement, isn't it? There are tons of delicious Filipino dishes out there (sisig, kare kare, halo halo, bulalo, etc) that I invite you to try! We also have a ton of really good international cuisine easily available. Of course, chains like Fridays may not always be the best because of how gentrified things can be (hooray, capitalism). And unlike in many western countries. we actually know how to season our food. =P
