All this time I didn't realize the damn lines had to get up to pressure before it would start rolling. THANK YOU
I stole the 2 locos from the train next to mine and it worked wonders
😂😂😂 why did I not think of this
@@nkululekonene973 I don’t know
And to think I was slipping and sliding on that danm 1.5 percent grade
I was about to delete this game. I'm gonna try that...
@@dilligaf1009 you also need to set up the rear engines a different way because the instructions aren’t right
This guide is a godsend. Thanks so much! None of this is covered in the tutorials. At least not what is trail and what is lead, or the radio. I am brand new to trains and this game, I was VERY confused.
You're very welcome!
Thanks Cappen for this clear and accurate walkthrough. I was having no end of trouble with getting these trains up that killer hill! Superb.👍
this is a life saver omg. thank you!!!
Thank you for your time and patience in making this video! I'm playing the Xbox version and it worked perfectly on the Fully Fuelled scenario.
Thank you for making this video, stuck on the hill unable to move, set the trains up like you discribed set throttle to 4 and I easily pull away on 1.5% grade.
Nailed it. Now do some vids about what sand is for, when to use and it's visual effect and when NOT to use and it's visual an it's effect. You are the man, well done.
Thanks for the tips . I kept failing , couldn’t get up the hill , I know nothing about trains and how they work , but I’m learning 🤣 I did everything right made the trip only to fail at the end because I rolled the wrong way and missed the crossing clearing . But I know how to get the train running properly now .
Thank you for this. There has to be a mistake on devs side because the next scenario mission walks you through the multiple locomotives setup. So probably the order of the scenarios is not right. But I had troubles even with this setup anyway. 2.0 miles from the end I was stuck and I had to set both first locomotives as lead and it took me about 15 minutes to get over the last gradient and a lot of patience because for every 2m forward I made 1m back due to wheel slip. But I was able to finish the scenario but it was very frustrating.
Excellent video, thank you so much! Solved the problem for me. I did run into the scenario where you have to follow the prompts first, then set the train up as outlined in the video to get it to work… so if you get stumped, don’t forget to try that. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for this video! I wasted about 4 hours of my life trying to get this blinking train up that hill.... 👏
That is a great video. Life saver! Thank you, and to the person who guided you too!
Thank you soooooo much for this little walk-through. I was really stumped on the gradient climbs this scenario had in store. I tried my best to follow the support forums but to no avail. But with this, I finally did not stall when climbing up higher gradients.
You're very welcome!
This is the scenario when my train halted on the hill.
Yeah because the locos aren't set up right. Pussed me off lol.
@@mattalford3932 thankfully i found this video. Now i have no problem climbing up the hills
I lost my train on a hill today..... and I lost a half a day..... pissed is right.
@@joeycameron5579 I wasted two hours lmao I’m mad asf
Does this video method even work?
Thank you! I was going 9.5 miles per hour for 2 hours until i had to stop at light and cannot go again.... now it looks better!
Other than 20 minute wait for the tanker train
I was going the same speed, didn't have to stop, and still couldn't make it. FFS!
Set The locos up in the yard after attaching to the rear of the train the way the game wants first to get rid of prompts. Then set the all the locos up to his settings and continue on.
Can you explain? What is the game looking for to get to the next prompt?
@@mariusvtube it tells you what it is looking for. Top-left hand corner of screen it should list the instructions. Do what the game says first before travelling to the front of the loco. :)
@@thelungz5114 thanks, i realised i had switched off the prompt icons so couldn't see what it was expecting of me
Thank you so much dude! Couldnt get pass some big hills before watching this vid, your setup guide really helped, thanks!
Great job, been struggling a little hear so your tutorial has made my life less stressful. Thanks.
After +3h reading methods, this cointained everything to make it work, thanks!
Thanks mate I was stuck on a mountain and this is what got me out of the issue and was able to finish the run lol :)
Thanks mate, your guide let me complete the mission I stuck on. As I can see it was helpful not only for me lol. Thanks once again
THANK YOU!!!! 4 fudging hours I've cocked about with this and your video has fixed my issues. By the way it works for TSW3 too
This worked a treat for me. THANK YOU
Yeah that's really irratating. The devs know they don't have enough information about how to operate the trains, but are like oh well maybe later lol.
Wow. Thanks for this. I've only just started playing with freight, wish I'd done this earlier it's fun. I couldn't get this scenario to work at all, but thanks to you it seems to be working. My bad, but I didn't initially watch the vid to the end. Followed your instructions on the lead trains, gave it power and....nothing. Then, at the end, you mentioned the brakes had to build up, so i went back, gave it power, waited, and off we went lol.
thanks for the detailed setup. about to attempt on xbox again, very little is explained by the training provided in game. I'll be sure to setup the front trailer or the front back one by the method you've explained :) cheers
Now I have more power and it does not feel like the breaks are on. Managed to get rid of the tasks in the back loco by switching the control and back. Thank you very much. Not sure how many times I tired the szenario. Almost lost interest in the hole game!
Glad you found it useful.
Excuse me, but what do you mean "switching the control and back"? I also can't get the prompts to progress.
@@mariusvtube not sure what I meant there. It is 9 month ago when I made the comment. But it was clear that I could drive the unit from the front loco. That was not possible before.
@@mariusvtube this means he did what game asked when we connected the back locos to the rest. But then you set it back to what video explains. The prompts remain because since the settings needed are what we have already and he didn’t set them to what game asked, the prompts remain. Meaning. Do what game asks and then set it to what this video says. Gets rid of prompts and gets 4 locos working
Thx. Real genius ! Finally 4 engines !
BTW, this set up works on all trains and missions where you have to operate 4 engines regardless either 4 engines in row in front of the train or 2 in front and 2 on the back. I’ve set it up already quite a few times
Yes, it works on other loco types as long as you can find the equivalent controls.
Worked perfectly. Soooo much more power with it set up right hahaha. Thanks a million!
Great to hear!
Many thanks...just started playing this game and couldn't figure out how to get going...turns out I needed to switch generator on. Thanks!!
Thank you so much for this. I’d been trying to get it to work. Had no clue about the “banking comm” button on the radio. Thanks again!
Glad I could help
Bro thank you so much, literally saved me from uninstalling and rage quiting :P
really useful thank you finally I have completed the Fully Fuelled scenario and I was able to advance with the next scenario
Excellent!
Thank you for this. Trying this now, hopefully it works.
Did it work?
THANKS! Just got into this game, and I like it for some reason. I wish the game didn't lag so much at times, but it seems decent. Biggest issue I had was the darn multi-car, in the one scenario. This setup worked!!! Appreciate it!
Multi-car???
@@everettrailfan Multi-Engine...sorry...Kind of out of the game already as I finished all the scenarios they give. Might go for some of the free user scenarios, and some of the expansion packs show up free once in a while. Not a big fan of the commuter runs, prefer to do the freight train runs.
@@WreckDiver99 Oh is that not Sand Patch Grade? I only play the American routes, usually the freight ones lol. Have you finished the whole Journey? Also the user scenarios kinda suck since there's so little possibility with the scenario designer.
@@everettrailfan No, sandpatch grade, but there is one that you have to hook up 2 loco's to the front and 2 to the back. If you follow their what they say to do, you don't get the rear loco power to help. I was only getting 25 or 30mph on the main straight before you get into the mountains proper, and once in, with the snow I couldn't get the darn thing to go. Drove me nuts. Found this tutorial and suddenly I can do 50MPH, and power up those inclines without an issue.
I wish there were more scenarios and more track laid out. Would love to see this go through more areas and do more things.
@@WreckDiver99 Oh yeah that's this one. Yeah, it's kind of weird.
Thanks for your help? Perfect!
I was stuck on the 1.5 with 36 cars and this got me moving ✊🏼
Thank you @cappen it worked!!
Glad it helped
thanks for the walkthrough dude helped alot if there are any silly ones like this in tws2 plz put up more vids as they do help thanks again dude
I haven't been using TSW2 much, my old PC was struggling and I much prefer Run 8 V3. Now I have a new PC I must get back to TSW2
Gonna be trying this tommorow as I tried tonight came within 2.5 from my final stop and stalled on the 1.7 grade
Thank you for this video🙂
Thankyou ! Helped alot
amazing help thanks so much!!
Glad it helped!
hey pal I had trouble doing this scenario seemed like train would never get there, after watching ur video it made a lot of a difference and train went faster, thank you pal your information was on the button and informative and useful and extremely helpful thank you . ps I will just say one thing I discovered that is it days on screen that the run is 17milea it actually is 38.31 miles is what distance is, also if you use brakes and stop the train after u set it up like you show in video it's good to know that your back end engine looses power and u end up completing journey at snails pace so what ever anyone does just do not stop train untill u reach final marker.
That is odd, the rear locos should not lose power, they should still respond fully to brake and throttle commands, they did for me.
The incorrect mileage reading is a known issue - the HUD reading is the straight line distance, the terrain map reading is via the rails.
Thanks so much!!
The missing radio is a huge deal, you cannot do this run with half power, dragging 2 engines along
Most crucial is that the "lead lead" engine has i'ts radio turned off
Thanks. I was stuck for 2 days 😀
Thanks
Thank you so much
No problem
The reason it has you shut down those locomotives is because they're not actually DPUs, they're acting as "freight cars." Sometimes, if yard units like GPs or SDs have to be moved on a mainline train, they'll tow them dead to prevent wear and tear on those poor GP38-2s. After all, they have less than half the horsepower of an AC44 or ES44 lol. Also the GP and SD series locomotives can't transmit lighting information through the freight cars, so you'd need to set the rear light either via the first rear unit, having the first one set to controlling with long hood, or have the rear unit set to single unit.
Worked for me
Very good tutorial I am very happy, because this slope pissed me off a lot can you make more video on TSW2020, TSW2, TSW3?
Is this the same with Cumberland Charge scenario? I have no problem with fully fueled but in cumberland charge, you have to stop otw to uphill damnit
Don't kno why the game don't teach u this. U can even hear the extra power. Thanks much more enjoyable now.
Glad to help
I think the biggest thing is letting enough pressure build to release the breaks and the radio Comm button
The COMM button is the most important, without that you are not controlling the rear locos.
Sand Patch Grade. I can't get the AC4400 to move but this one is about the other engine. Swell.
So , I decided to wait the 9-10 mins for the other train to get some distance, so I stopped at the first tunnel , at a red . I waited 9 mins , had all breaks on except DBS , it took almost 2 mins for BP to clear then I began again , nd it’s now yellow all the way .
So I’m gonna do it one more time but this time I’m going to wait in the years for that extra 11 mins before moving at all . And see if I can get a green all the way , hopefully no stops or at least I can do the speed limit the whole way .
hi, this guide helped me finish this assignment! thank you so much, I was following the voice of the guide and it doesn't make you do the correct operations! Do you think these are programming errors or is it intentional?
Thanks! I had everything right except the banking comm. I had it on in both trains! Wrong! I only want it on in the lead train, and the breaker on in the one being controlled.
In the case of having only three locomotives at the front, what should be the setting?
It's ridiculous this important stuff isn't told to us
I bloody lost it on this scenario. First I crash into another train, secondly I go to change tracks but my trains rolls away from me. I gave up
It took me at least two attempts until I got it right, don’t hurry it, just take your time and watch the signals.
How did you get passed the notorious red signal in this same mission right outside the cumberland terminal? It seems stuck at red and never turns green.
Is that the first one? If so, you need to run back to the overpass behind you, and come back. It should have changed then. I've had to do this every time I've attempted this trash.
You just need to wait for the train ahead of you to release the track:) In my cae it was about 15min
Where do you get it
How did u switched camera to rear directly
Press the "2" key 2 times
Does anyone know why when in most scenarios with two locos (not connected to cars) when I try to move it takes a lot of power and sounds like it has brakes on and when i idle it to coast it stops like it has full service brakes on and I check my locos brakes and their released and I check the other locos brakes and it’s handle off but it still happens?
It does sound like you have still got a brake on, check the pressure gauges.
@@TheFilwud thanks for the help, I’ve learned since my comment to change the cut out valve and independent brake valve
is it the same with the AC440CW?
The AC you need to use the display to set brake to "lead". (90psi / cut in / lead)
@@mdgfb05 just like with any other: lokomotive one use the radio to switch banking com on (its above the windscreen). Lokomotive 3 (if the acs are the rear pair) set to cutout and lead, but it should set automatically if you set the front lead banking com to on
How to open the map without pausing the game? Because in my game, i have to pause and then press M button on the keyboard, but the game is pause so when i switch the tracks from there sometimes it doesn’t really switched
number 9 key. above the typing, not on the numeric side
Anyone having issues with the red light near the end
Yeah I’m stuck at a red signal 400 yd before the last stop
I think I make it with 3 locos I was 12 mph up the whole hill but made it. Never a risk of speeding lol
If you hold down shift whilst walking, you run.
Would I be able to run 8 of these? If so how?
If TSW2 will let you assemble a train with 8 engines, just set up each lead engine (front of each set) like in the video and all other engines like the none lead engines, that would work, I think.
Make it go past.
My train won’t move is it the cargo not moving with me or is it something else that the game won’t tell me
