In Train sim classic, with the A4 DLC. the campaign is literally a 'here's a A4, ignore the signals, we'll hold the beer and don't crash it'

    Fun fact
If you want to have some true fun and even crash the trains in TSW2,
You can simply follow these easy steps:
    Pass a red signal
    Pause
    Save game
Let the scenario send you back to the menu
Load up the saved game from the DLC menu
And boom, no rules and you can overspeed and crash crash without any precautions!

just for reference, the headways are so long because the devs want to keep to a somewhat prototypical timetable the locos they have instead of trying to fill up the timetable that would have seen probably z dozen or more locomotive classes with just 2, thus leaving their options open to hopefully one day, release more of those locomotives and fill out the prototypical timetable, they did throw the Jubilee on more services than it would have seen, all these commuter stopping services probably would have run with a black 5 or something even smaller, that was just a tradeoff they made between authenticity and actually having a game

As a big Pennsy Fan, I can confirm it was the T1 that was supposed to Hit 140MPH. I remember reading in Alvin F. Stauffer’s Book “Pennsy Power” that even though the Typical PRR K4 could hit about 90MPH, one engineer managed to get his to 98MPH.

Me and my dad lost it laughing since we both really like trains, he likes old diesels and I like old steam locomotives, it was very funny watching it go 3/4 to Mach 1.

Yes, uncoupling the 'arriving' loco was how it was done right up to at least the 80s. In steam days it would then make its way to the shed to be coaled, watered and turned; but I remember a day spotting at Norwich when some of my friends 'cabbed' an electric light loco as far as the end of the platform, after another loco had taken its coaches to form the next departure.
Obviously there were multiple units, but anything loco-hauled worked this way really until the HST (which was initially considered a multiple unit) and then the Class 91 / DVT (driving van trailer) sets (plus a few other examples).

  • @YouVidTuber
    @YouVidTuber 2 года назад +3

I noticed something very...interesting, in the controls for both of the steam trains in TSW2.
If you take a look at the controls for them you can see that shoveling coal into the firebox is assigned to, literally, "any key".
So if it doesn't seem like enough is being shoveled, just mash literally any key on your keyboard and shoveling will commence.

13:30 I believe the big vacuum gauge you're looking at from the engineer's driving position is reservoir vacuum, not train pipe vacuum. Actual current braking force is displayed in the HUD, just below and to the right of the speedometer. Unless you need to change a setting to make train braking force not directly follow the lever, because that's what seems to be happening.

The Jubilee at the other end of the train on the first timetable on the first go on in Liverpool Lime street to Ditton was “why train no go” at first because the brakes weren’t fully off. There is a thing on the top left side of the cab that’s kind of like, or is called a brake thermometer that tells you what the brakes on the Jubilee or 8F or probably a 4F are doing. If it’s pointing at 0 then the brakes are fully on. If it’s pointing at a spot that’s over 21 then the brakes are fully off. And one more thing, Well done for breaking Mallard’s 2:26 by going over 620mph, I’ve gone over 560 and maybe over 570 myself but I’ve only ever done that in wheel slips in the scenario of the worst winter of all in 1958 on TSW3. And I don’t think I’ve gone at least 100mph since then. Also I know it’s your choice about what you put on RUclips but I’d like to see you do Henry and Gordon and Edward and James if you can get them in TSW2 or TSW3. If the answer is yes then thank you.

    Milwaukee F7
    DRG CLASS 05

    • @1471SirFrederickBanbury
      @1471SirFrederickBanbury 8 месяцев назад

the A4 class 2509 Silver Link and 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley could have also easily beat Mallard in a race. Silver Link COASTED (throttle barely cracked open) at 112 mph on her first run, and 4498 would have actually beat the record, but Alan Peglar (then fireman) told Bill Hoole (the driver) to ease off as they were pulling a normal passenger train which didn't have good enough brakes to stop in time if they continued and beat the record (they were also going 112 mph). Mallard's run was highly problematic, as there was quite a lot of wear on some parts, Mallard wasn't built and tuned as well as engines like Silver Link, and they had a small, short window to break the record before having to dump the air on emergency braking (they were testing out a Westinghouse system that day). This sudden change from full throttle to emergency braking melted the middle cylinder bearing (kinda like catching a slip with sand), whereas on Silver Link's run, the bearings were relatively cool. There is a good video that explains Silver Link's record breaking run. I highly recommend it, as it does a good job of explaining how it went.

Mallards record should stay as it is and should even remain when surpassed by a modern steam engine. But dreaming is always nice especially when enhanced by great video’s like this. I do not know anything about trainsimulators either, but if available a similar running with a German 05 class could stir something here on YT :). Keep up the good work!

Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into six cars per units and also having three Accessible Toilets on that six cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXC, Gardner 6LXB and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers?
A Stock Train and also having 8 DisaAccessiblelets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it bigger and extend it to bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Train tunnel into a High-Speed train?

The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 37 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project that is OK for London Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. Oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly line and also build a brand-new underground train station so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street and also make another brand new tunnel train station in Chingford and could they extend the DLR?
All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Six carriages three accessible toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains.

Fun fact I actually manage to get this engine to... 127 MPH until it derailed on a turn. So yes you can beat mallards record.

Honestly hyce if you think those yards in the UK are intense go take a look at the switches at Ogilvee Transportation Center in Chicago that's some pretty intense switching. They still use the original mechanisms from the early 20th century because despite the efforts of Union Pacific actively trying to improve things they cant think of anything better than wat the Chicago & Northwestern folks originally came up with.

I love how they have the modern Merseyrail Yellow painted on the doors of Edge Hill Station, I believe the doors were green at this time. I'm still holding out hope for a route featuring Lime Street in around 1840 with the original Liverpool to Manchester route, with Lion and her sisters, the original Crown Street Terminus now as a goods yard. Or heck if that's too much, I'll take the 1830 route with Rocket and Cycloped :P

    green - clear
double yellow - Clear to next signal and one after is red.
    Yellow - Next is red
Red - Good luck you are about to crash.
Also steam in the UK... Reverser settings are different to US steam. 75% is setting off. You only want the regulator at 70% . Instant you are above 15mph.. you want to be back to about 45 on the reverser. After 30 mph.. you want to be about 33% on the reverser. above 50 mph... below 25 on the reverser and above 70mph... about 15% on the reverser. The UK trains do not use 100% regulator very much. usually 15 - 70 % a few use 85%. But it is not common to see 100% regulator on British steam.
I think the regulator is different setup to the US steam. meaning 100% is like 130% of US setting. 100% will spin wheels on most loco's. 75% is max power with no slippage (usually)

G'day Hyce, have you tried the Jubilee on the ICE system, I have and don't they go, same as cayon valley, union Pacific and clinchfield system along with the 8F and 4F. Piss weak whistle on the 4F but a hell of a bark. On the ICE system doubleheaded Jubilee's doing over 130 mph for what seems like a half hour. Should try and I did go faster than 130 mph, but why should I spoil the show. Well while typing this on my phone I'm also driving a Jubilee with 7 passenger carriages doing horseshoe curve at a steady 13 mph from Altona to Johnstown. P.S. the vacuum brakes don't work well at high speeds. Bye bye from Newcastle Australia.
