Liam Smith agreed. The trilogy was not that great in my opinion but there are some good songs in there that definitely should spice up their setlist here and there. This is one of them!!!
Surprised they played one of the songs from the trilogy this year. I hope they keep playing a few of them in the near future 💚. Also, I think they really need to fix their setlist a bit. Some of the songs seem out of place.
I agree, I just saw them when they came through for this tour. The weakest setlist I've ever seen them play. They played NOTHING from the trilogy, 1 song from kerplunk(2000 light years), 1 from 1039(Knowledge), Nothing from Insomniac. They played maybe 4 songs off dookie, 3 off Nimrod (really glad to see them play scattered), the opened with know your enemy from 21CB and everything else was off of American Idiot and the new record.
Andrew Deen Exactly. Even I went and made myself and imaginary Green Day setlist just for fun. Maybe they can't play for too long any more like they used to back in 2010 (which was the best year for Green Day playing live). Never went to one of their gigs wish I could though...
I agree with you on the surprising aspect, and to me it's also a very pleasant surprise they've already played this year a couple of songs from the trilogy (my Top 10 GD songs includes 3 songs from the trilogy...), and I too would love to see them add a few of these songs to their cruising setlist during the next months. However, I don't join you when you say their actual setlist is somehow inadequate. I saw them in Paris on February... Well, it could hardly be more brilliant. Because of their oldest ones sang by 45-year-old Billie Joe whose voice I find better than ever. Because I was so happy to hear the several Revolution Radio ones. And because those from American Idiot were so relevant (how could they not sing'em right now ?) and amazing as always... Besides, the concert lasted more than 2h30 (I didn't time it so I can't tell precisely how long more). I wonder on what basis you allege 2010 was Green Day's best year playing live ? I did find them awesome by then, not better though than in 2013, when they completed 99 Revolutions Tour... 2010 was somehow 21st Century Breakdown's golden age, 2013 was the Trilogy's one. And even though I prefer 21st CB as an album to one from the trilogy, I slightly prefer the band's performances and 2013 (even some during 2012) than in 2010... (It wasn't an easy conclusion of mine.) Green Day are surely aware their trilogy songs still kick ass, and this Nuclear Family in Montreal (as Amy in Brussels, the day just before Paris) is a wink to these albums, and to all their fans, especially those who were astonished back from 2013.
I do too but they didn't even play it on the 99 Revolutions tour. Don't suppose we have any hope of seeing it ever? :{ Then again, suppose Letterbomb only became a staple towards the end of the 21CB tour so I guess you never know...
Out of interest, how many Green Day gigs have you gone to? I'm always seeing really good stuff on your channel. Little envious, haha. But just subbed. :)
Thanks for the vids, haha. Not that I don't go see them myself, but it's great being able to see the songs that they haven't played whenever I've gone. :)
So glad they've finally played something from the trilogy, and one of the best songs from it too.
