I’ve just been making a long cast ( Not sure how far that is) and going 4 mph, which I guess is too fast? My lure keeps coming to the top, and skipping? Not enough line out? Too fast? Thanks again.
Here's my question, the Yo-Zuri 90 you like, is it the sinking model? Not fimilar with that line. There's too many of them, and nowhere has a clear breakdown of the entire lineup. I want to try that one from shore...as far as I know, they have two models big and Jr. I think Jr. isn't even 90 size. And bc of that, what is the spec on the CC RedFin? On TW, it says wake...is that the same?
Funny you say that about that Rapalla X rap, I haven’t caught a single thing on that either. If you look at the way it swims on the side of your kayak it needs to be trolled at a very high rate of speed in order to get the best action. I’m talking like over 2.5 mph . It’s probably good for pelagic species where you can burn your lures in . They sure do look nice though
Thanks. I have the headband, which I think will work well over my winter hat or with no hat at all. But I’ve tried it over my ball cap and it sucks. I’m definitely going to consider purchasing that. 👍
As I assemble my arsenal for ROCKTOBER, I am curious if you attach the lures directly to your braid or do you use a mono leader? I looked at a couple of your videos and I can't quite tell from just looking. Also, do you use snap swivels or Tactical clips? I have heard a lot of people are switching over to clips, but i wonder if it messes with the lures action? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I like owner 1/0 hooks for 3.5” lures and 2/0 for 5” lures. The part number for the 1/0 (4102-119). I’ve tried every combination of hook replacement. Both, front only, and rear only. Ive gotten the best action and hookup ratio with just changing the rear.
You should go on ebay and try and get a old storm big mac lure orange color works the best. It was my best lure I ever used. I got more keepers with that lure than all my lures I have now and I have 100's of lures and over a 1000 soft plastics lures.

Thanks! I always use tactical angler clips. Makes changing lures easy and I don’t catch less fish.

The Mag minnow I like the most is the R1138 (90mm floating 3/8oz), the 4" CC redfin is 3/8oz. They call the 7" a wake bait.

It’s good to get that kind of feedback. Funny enough I finally caught fish on a Rapalla saltwater Xrap. I was shocked when I saw my rod go down.

I use a flouro leader, swivel to braid, and tactical anger's clip to lure.
Is that the academy? I used to live on the Severn in Severna Park
I really like the area. The only problem is all the boat traffic.
@@MDYakFishing Definitely a consideration. That whole Annapolis area is full of them, all the way up the Severn. Gorgeous though.
Do you have a place you recommend to buy these as well as Snakehead lures? I have priced on Amazon and they are quite expensive.

Some folks have a lot of luck with that lure. It doesn’t catch me fish.
