A lot of these games are mostly rubber banding the reason why they do that is to keep the game challenging cuz if you just easily knock out every opponent the game will be too easy
As an FG guy, one thing I learned is a lot of players have no defense. That's why souls players, for instance, struggled on sekiro because sekiro had you rely heavily on defense to create offense.
