- Route 46A has been running for almost 100 years, evolving from just a couple of departures a day to the every 7-8 mins 46A we all know today. Unfortunately, January 25th was its last day to shine with the Bus Connects programme growing bigger as time goes on and, with the E-Spine being introduced will see the 46A plus many other routes reduced to the history books. To celebrate this occasion, a number of private vehicles and two Dublin Bus vehicles were in attendance and convoyed from the Phenoix Park all the way to Dun Laoghaire and back. One of these vehicles was AX643 and is seen here running a 46A for the last time, seen on the northern part of the 46A which has only been served from 2010 when the 46A replaced the route 10 (Pheniox Park - UCD). AX643 has since been spotted here again but on the revised 11 instead (Pheniox Park - Sandyford).
I've another few videos coming from this farewell, so keep an eye out over the next few days!
