He founded the India house in London to train indian youth in arms and to motivate them to fight for India's freedom. His degree of barrister was taken away by the British government because of that. He was the one who wrote the most popular book on the war of independence of 1857, which, though banned by the British, was illegally circulated and read widely throughout India and Europe. That book became like a Bible for the revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, who had made it mandatory for all members of HSRA to read it. And it is also alleged that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose re-organised the INA to fight the British on Savarkar's advice. So please do research before opening your filthy shitty mouth about a great person like him.

Savarkar was a progressive, atheist, ultra-rationalist, visionary leader who didn't bother with the dirty historical baggage India carried, and Gandhi glorified. He was an eternally inconvenient truth. He loved languages of India and worked to revive Marathi like no other. Was a great poet himself. Gandhi on the other hand was a baniya leader who USED the core Indian ideas - including superstitions - to congress's and India's benefit. Gandhi was ascetic who seem to have unrealistic ideas of future India. Savarkar was artist heart, and extremely pragmatic in brain, who believed in "karmayog". Two different visions.
