Great video. Where did you get the pontic library for the basic tooth. This is exactly what I have been looking for as Primescan will not let me save the proposal as a model. Thanks for all your great content.
your videos are great, I have been toying with digital planning , wax up etc but have not been able to find decent teeth stl's Would you share the stl files for ideal teeth that you have? I'd really appreciate it
@@bgrutterdds Thank you that will help for sure.. also is there a way to do custom guides using meshmixer , I do it with bsp for now but was wondering if we can use meshmixer for a single tooth cases, the ones that are usually free handed??
Possible, sure. But for $20, not worth the hassle. Try making a Nightguard exclusively in MeshMixer and you'll see what I mean. Too much work and the fit is far from accurate.
This is great demonstration. Now the question is, can you print this out? or better yet, can you print out clear matrix to use acrylic Or even better yet, print out the provisional tooth itself in acrylic? I guess the best way is to just mill out the final crown with a zirconia block.
hello, great video thank you. One question if i want to use this wax up to print or mill an egg shell provisional for an immediate esthetic over implant , should i leave the space unfilled from the beginning or there's another way to unfill it from inside in the end? thanks
A few ways. But probably the easiest (least sophisticated) would simply be to add a Mesh of a cube and Transform it to the same size. Then, look at the dimensions in the Transform menu.
Dr. Grutter, You used the "sculpt" tool to fill in the diastema b/c of boneloss (1st technique). What's the real life/lab tech equivalent to what you did to close the gap b/w tooth #8 and 9?
Not certain what you mean. If we want to close a diastema, without doing orthodontics, we usually need to do so with a restoration. That can either be composite binding or a veneer/crown.
Thanks Dr. Grutter. Very comprehensive video!
Awesome! Thanks for posting
Happy to help!
Hello, thanks for the video. How about the occlusion, how do you adjust that?
Using other tools like the attract tool to the adjacent, followed by the robust smooth tool..
excellent demonstration , thanks
My pleasure!
Thanks Dr. Grutter!
Happy to help!
very informative

can u please share the stl file for this model?
is there a way to measure that space that will need to be bonded to the upper left central to achieve complete closure of the diastema ?
A few ways. But probably the easiest (least sophisticated) would simply be to add a Mesh of a cube and Transform it to the same size. Then, look at the dimensions in the Transform menu.
Can somebody please explain what's the purpose of this waxup??
A waxup is done for many many reasons: implant planning, restorative planning, Orthodontic workup, diagnostic purposes, etc.
Dr. Grutter,
You used the "sculpt" tool to fill in the diastema b/c of boneloss (1st technique). What's the real life/lab tech equivalent to what you did to close the gap b/w tooth #8 and 9?

@@bgrutterdds What do u mean by "Astra"? In Meshmixer, I thought you added gum tissue...?
Sorry, typo. Edited. I meant a diastema.
@@bgrutterdds Oh ok, but you made the gum tissue bigger...??
For adding more wax on a tooth digitally/ sculpting. Do you always use the inflate brush or use other options like draw?
Whichever tool is needed. I will use drag fairly often.
THANKS A LOT FOR NICE DEMO VIDEO!!
Do you recommedand any wireless mouse to do the work ?
I'm very simple. I use a basic, $8 USB from Amazon.
Could you send me some OBJ file or some MeshMixer compatible file from some dental cast so I can practice ?
Sorry, but I cannot. Speak with your lab technician. He/she may be able to.
Thanks
Is this from a CBCT imported into mesh mixer?
No. This is an optical scan generated model. But, a CBCT of a stone model could do similar. Slightly less detail
Where can I get the denture tooth files?
I believe I have a link in the description or at least a mention at the end of this video. If not, search "Christian Brenes Tooth Library".
u are a fuckin' Genius 😍
Hahaha. Thanks, dude!
