Hello Kristine! I know you posted this a year ago, but I'm attempting it today. The middle is difficult for me. I'm not sure I can handle it without pencils or a white gel pen. Just wondering ... did you use watercolor paint exclusively? Thanks! Your skill is truly AMAZING!
So beautiful but it’s that center part on poppies that as a big inner (nice orange yellow) petals but if has that “stamen” in center, then have “yellow green, lil red violet and some very dark places on inside. So how do that middle w/o it all turning into very blue/black (ty)!

Yes, only watercolors and leaving middle unpainted. But you can try Bleed proof white for middle part if you find it difficult

In the middle part colors I used also reds from the poppy petals and Perylene Violet to make it more intense
