Such a great teacher speaks articulately yet simply at the same time where I can understand this is a gift very few people possess thank you for making this video sir God bless you keep them coming you are a great representation of the company
I can manually (w/a screwdriver) get the contactor to engage (& then the ac starts)...if the blower motor (& or transformer) is bad, will this prevent the AC from starting (even if I manually engage the contactor)?
kelly klund if you can manually engage the contractor and get it to come on, but it does not come on with a call for cooling it is only due to a lack of signal or 24v. This could be due to a bad transformer or wire from the board, but not due to a bad blower motor or fan motor. Hope this helps!
I have a contactor for a planer that when I got it it just buzzed and would not close. If I manually pushed it closed the motor started no problem. I picked it apart and cleaned the magnet surfaces so now it closes, but the motor won't run instead. What could be the problem?
my contactor stays engage only for a couple of sec, flip on and off, then on and off again. if I force it to engage, compressor still doesn't work, any suggestion on what is the problem?
Myth. You should take care about how you look and prepare working area if possible to not get soaked with oil/products etc. You should wash your hands frequently and use cream barrier and PPE. Keep your standards high to minimise risks, depends where you are working. Dirty engineer doesn't mean jack shit in my eyes. Seen too many lazy ones covered toe to head just to use it as a proof of skills. Btw, i Know you were joking, just felt like I say this as it's makes people tilted to face the reliaty.

Great explanation of why contactors fail! Thank you so very much for taking the time to make this great video!
Any tips to help make a contactor last longer?

Can a contactor fail from a short in the 24v leads?
Is it supposed to make a buzzing noise?
Beautiful information about contactors.
Could this (faulty one) cause a compressor to overheat thus causing the unit (a/c) to shut off?
Excellent explanation. Oh, I was looking for "What Causes Contractors to Fail?" :)
good work
sir, can you tell me how continues switching affects the contactor
What about ohming out the coil? What should the ohms be on a good contractor?
Wayne Miles between 10-20 ohms
Where I live.... its earwigs. Find them built up in contactors all the time.
Great information
Normally the contactor coil should read between 10 & 20 ohms, to be within tolerances.
I thought the resistance should be between 5 and 20.
Danger! See Stephen Rardon Hilmore Core Tool Fails
I go through a lot of contact cleaner because of ants and spiders.
Nice
not enough info. comments have better info.
when you said ants i was like whattttt

Dude, you didn't even show the multimeter use, how to properly. You're doing videos to pros
I searched for "contactor switch sound" and Google Chrome Browser brought me here. Sorry for unlike.
