I really enjoy this movie, but wish the third act was a bit longer and fleshed out. Jeremy Irons was severely underutilized, he couldve turned this movie into something really special with more screen time. The dialogue between the two of them was great.
I remember seeing an alternate poster for this movie several years ago that led me to believe there was a director's cut and tried to find it. Shame, because I think it exists and if someday it gets released, maybe its reception would be much more positive than the original.
I find this one a hit and miss but i actually like the warlocks even though stan Winston but i like the different versions of warlock also jeremy iron hamming it up as the uber warlock also the time machine console looks so badass compare to the original
I don't know what the f*** they were thinking when they made this film, this movie before reading the book and the book was f****** amazing even though it was old as hell and the movie the original movie was really good even though it was old as hell, honestly don't understand having all this material the original book and a very old movie that was pretty good and they came up with this crock of shit.
I thought The Time Machine (2002) was a good movie and I enjoyed it. Sure, the classic version from 1960 has a completely different charm to it but this approach wasn't bad at all. Escpecially the dialog with the Uber-Morlock was very intriguing. This movie a failure? Not at all.
Yeah, luckily it had that positive effect on his career and he got to direct War of the Worlds, because up until then, Stephen Spielberg's filmography wasn't anything special. WTF are you even talking about!?
Steven Spielberg PRODUCED this movie! The original director, Simon Wells went back to animation, directing the high budget 3D flop, Mars Needs Moms for Disney. That cost $150 million and only made $39 million! Gore Verbinski, the 2nd director continues with the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies...
I will say this, even though it's a minor point at the very end, the children's book: Mars needs moms, is an incredibly good and very touching book. The travesty that came out afterward is a typical result of studio interference and decision by committee. The author, who has done many children's books all of which are very very good, stated this as well. He was insanely disappointed at the result and I think Val never to let another studio touch one of his works again. If you haven't, I recommend reading that book and all his other books. Just my two cents.

This movie blew me away when I first watched
Was so well done
Hard to believe it’s considered a failure
Think everyone involved did a great job
This is a good movie. I watch it every few years and always enjoy it.
An engaging remake. Well done! I enjoy both the 1960 and this version.
Loved the press this movie received for filming in downtown Troy, NY. I believe this was the 1st of many productions in the Capital Region.

Although it's not a great movie, it's an entertaining film.

Balto (ToT)
Loved this movie as a kid. The Eloi Chant movie is still memorable to this day.
12:30 The Time Machine flop was good for Spielberg. Because, War Of The Worlds? Huh?
Didn't like it.
