    Loving this podcast.
    Personally, I’m glad Ohtani is not participating in the HR Derby. I wish Will Smith and Teoscar Hernandez were starting. Anyway, it’s awesome you guys got Dave Roberts on here. He gets a lot of criticism and not enough credit for all the successes.

    That’s Ohtani’s 27th HR, not 26th. It was not the first walk-off of the season.

    Dave Roberts is simply uber cool, both as the Dodgers manager and as a person. ⚾️ 🧢

    the risk of injury of 1) sneezing vs 2) swinging the bat full strength w/ limited rest time in between is significantly different. it’s like comparing the risk of someone driving 15 mph vs 150 mph. one is obviously riskier.

    • @edomarpez1840
      @edomarpez1840 7 дней назад

      the 15 mph?

    • @jsa790
      @jsa790 7 дней назад

      @@edomarpez1840i was just illustrating low risk vs high risk. in the video, alanna was saying that people get injured from sneezing, etc. but that logic doesn’t take into consideration that one activity is riskier than the other.

    Dave Roberts is the man! And I think he's gotta have the coolest job on the planet. If you care about bringing joy to millions of people and spend your day helping young men become the best versions of themselves...what a privilege.
    And you're dead wrong Alanna...I don't want Shohei within 100 miles of the derby. Baseball somehow managed to turn it into something moe demanding and riskier for players. It's managed to become even more boring than the NBA's slam dunk contest.

    So we now know Roberts does want Mookie to bat in a diffrent batting order and to move him back to second. If it doesnt happen its bc Betts refused

    • @alldodgers
      @alldodgers 6 дней назад

      After this chat, Mookie Betts also happened to be available to media at Dodger Stadium and told reporters that he's open to batting wherever in the lineup and that "Shohei belongs wherever the hell he wants to go."
      So, it looks like these guys are on the same page for after Mookie returns.

    Do we have to go over the definition of insanity again….?
    Doing the same thing over and over (like say hanging a weak pitch) and expecting a different result…
    It’s so hard to watch a team alternate between being heroic one night and utterly pathetic the next-
    Also: so our pitcher throws a complete game shutout one night and for a week he is crowned all star, rookie of the year, Cy Young etc etc and all week long he talks about how great everything is- then, on his very next turn, he’s given a 4 run lead and can’t get through 3 innings-
    How about next time a player has a good game, he says, like Coby,
    “Job not done yet” and then shuts up, no matter how many bouquets Kirsten throws at you…
    I just don’t get this team- I’m utterly baffled-
    Is it a core weakness, a timidity?
    Does the manager have enough John McGraw in him? A manager that can inspire a little fear along with encouragement?
    It always comes down to Character-

    I must apologize for being part of the fans that when things ain’t going our way I get upset and start tweeting all kinds of nonsense and I just don’t care about the 💩 I tweet but I’ll be better I must be better the change starts with us and you’re right doc we really don’t know what a player has to go through day in and day out to be at an elite level my apologies 🫡

      Hey we all say dumb or terrible things to these athletes! Trust that I am NOT innocent of it, especially in my past. I'm thankful to Dave for articulating it the way he did here and I hope his words help fans offer up a little grace to these players when they're not performing at their best.
      Appreciate the support on the show, Mr. Iggy!!
