Rick Monday who was traded to the Dodgers in early '77. His home run in the '81 playoffs would send them to the World Series. Kirk Gibson who won the MVP in '88 though Strawberry had better numbers. He was the driving force and of course he hit the homer in game 1 of the Series. Shawn Green who set the franchise record for home runs in a season and a major league record for total bases in a game in which he had four home runs. Manny Ramirez, Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernandez as well.

Reliever Iron Mike Marshall, Reggie Smith, Dusty Baker, Betts, Ohtani, and Gibson would make my list of players acquired by the Dodgers who were not drafted or originally signed by the team. Marshall makes the list as the first reliever to ever win the Cy Young. Everyone else played key roles in winning the chip.

Anyone who chooses Walker Buehler over Andrew Friedman's planning and strategy, chooses emotional feel goods over future world series championships. When you choose sentimentality and what feels comfortable over what needs to be done, then you'll never win another championship. It's not your billions of dollars on the line. You want something different, go buy Guggenheim. The ownership group is paying for championships. They are not here to pay for your comfort. It's not like we threw Walker off a cliff. Buehler will be fine and will be loved in Boston. You will be fine and there will be new players for you to love. In Friedman we trust. Let's go Dodgers!

Buehler was not what we hoped, 3 arm surgeries later he only played a total of 2.5 whole season if you count all DL and then complaint of a hip in a already short starting pitcher for playoffs, it did not look like he was hurt when he threw that chair after Hernandez hit a grand slam after he gave up 6 runs in a crucial must win game, he did not deserve huge contract like Kershaw
