Andy, in order to achieve 360° horizon lock, the Max Lens Mod has to create a full circular fisheye image that fits inside the height of the image sensor. The completely new optics in Max Lens Mod 2.0 make use of the larger 8:7 image sensor in HERO12 and so has a larger image circle. It is this larger circle that allows sufficient pixels to be captured to produce 4k, which isn’t possible in Max Lens Mod 1.0, as it simply doesn’t have enough pixels. Full disclosure: I work for GoPro

Super helpful. So is the sensor bigger in the 12 to help it achieve that or can I get 4K 60 if I put the 2.0 on the GoPro 11 or 10 even?
@@TechinfluenceTV the bigger sensor is used in the HERO12 and HERO11, but Max Lens Mod 2.0 is not backwards compatible with HERO11.
Thanks for clarification. I love the 12 and 2.0 with 4K 60
@@TechinfluenceTV I'm so glad you're loving it! That kind of feedback means a lot.
Hey... Can you do 8:7 full frame mode video with max lens mod 2.0?
What is the brand of handle mount you are using at the 4:22 minute mark. it looks nice and minimalistic.
It is a tripod from Shiftcam shiftcam.com/products/travelpod-pro-1
Totally unrelated but you look a lot like that character from The Blacklist. The teacher character, I can't think of the characters name.
