The postman's voice actor had previously dubbed Jack Bauer into Japanese, and his exaggerated voice act became a hot topic in Japan at the time. I think this is probably fan service from the production team to 24 fans.
It's crazy how Noda-sensei could still create an overly attractive character even though he was one of the last character that was introduced. Like where did he get inspirations from??
Speaking of postal workers with guns, that reminds me of the time during the 1920s when the US Marine Corps had to deal with train robbers constantly trying to steal the mail. So they just put Marines armed with Tommy Guns on board the trains to defend them.
They finally get to see Botarou's personality! Also how unbelievably strong do you need to be, to be able to lift a whole anchor...and twirl it with ease?! And Sugimoto not even flinching after being hit on his head by a whole anchor...wtf?! Even if you are immortal, you're still gonna be hurt from that!
also, I love how out of pocket Sugimoto's behavior always is when you least expect it. he'll go a stretch without doing anything too fishy, but then he's doing shit like grabbing Tanigaki's tits and keeping his pinup photos, or spitting food into Shiraishi's mouth, or asking to see mens' nipples as his genuine best attempt at checking their bodies for tattoos... as if a real tattooed prisoner would actually show them when asked. I can't tell if Sugimoto is just being the most disaster of bisexuals, or if he's simply acquired too much brain damage by this point to keep it together.
that postman really is the "rock in a Hanna Barbera cartoon that's got different line art and rendering" of people, because you absolutely know he's about to do something. and sure enough, he squares up with all the unearned confidence of a man who's carried a gun for his entire career, has never fired it once, but has been desperately waiting for an excuse to do so all his life. Vasily let him live his dream for about 2 glorious minutes, and that gave him enough of an ego boost that he continued to be our episode's wild card chaos causer until Asirpa literally kicked him out of the gun fight for being such dog shit at it. everybody say "thank you Satoru Noda" for every little weirdass bit of this show.
Clint Eastwood, the postman, his smug face is awesome! The fact that he has a damn poor aim makes it even better!

12話のサムネ、宇佐美の戦闘体制、発射前、バック宙のどれかになると予想
Now we have all our major players in play!
The 2nd to last big arc is now in session. Next episode should be great and kickstart the arc proper!
