You should get some column speakers like the Maui 11 G3 or even the 5 GO 100 for these types of events. Compact, loud, clear, almost no feedback, so placement can be almost anywhere. Plus low profile. We use them for these type of small corporate events and also art galleries.
Couldn’t agree more. RCF Evox too would be great, they have adjustable poles for height and panning the array if needed. Very minimal setup and small footprint plenty of coverage and plenty loud.
I'm a Dallas based photographer / videographer. Just watched this one along with several of your other BTS videos. One of the cleanest professional solo +1 rigs I've ever seen. Nice work!
I admire what you do my friend you and your GF are a team you know your setup and your equipment and a problem solver, I wish you nothing but major success I myself in my journey like you here in Los Angeles
Nice job on this video. I like your style when dealing with clients (herding cats). Re: sandbags. I find them very useful for temporarily keeping doors open for load ins and outs. They also keep long items like stands etc. from slipping off when placed on top of your cart.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had trouble with floor outlets. In my case it was really old church with two prong only floor outlets and my two prong three prong adapters didn't fit. but luckily I had one in my computer bag that was slightly modified it was an older one with the wire attached to it that somebody cut off wrongly. That solved my problem on one side for the other side for some reason a few weeks prior I picked up a Japanese IEC power cord on one of my orders. it's a computer power cord on one end and a two prong plug on the other end with Dingley ground wire. Well ever did that thing fit perfectly I ordered two more after that day. To use them properly you ground them to the metal plate or ground/screw plate screw (this is of course assuming they properly installed the metal MC with clamps into the metal outlet boxes) then you plug it in and use a outlet tester to make sure it's the correct way around. Then just add an IEC to plug adapter back to a regular NEMA 5-15 or used the IEC directly.
Hey Connor. Fellow audio engineer here. Love your videos brother. It’s a ton of work for gigs but the payoff is huge when sound is great and client is happy. Thanks for these awesome gig vlogs.
hey man just started to binge watch your channel. Im just starting to enter this world professionally and these help inspire and get ideas, so thank you for sharing the experience with us. Good stuff so far. One suggestion though, Watching this I feel a way to connect the dollys together so you can move as one piece would be sooo helpful. Then you can also unlatch them to move separate as needed. Going to keep binge watching, but I hope to see a way you make the southwire power cords. thanks fo the entertainment and the editing style. Comes together really nicely.
Great video for a “job shadow”. This really helps me figuring stuff out. Even though I’m in Europe, I see and hear the bumps you encounter are mostly the same over here 😂 Still envy your bus 👌🏻
Great work ! For this type of "small roundtable" configuration, I think some little boxes like 8" or some column type loudspeaker like LD Maui would fit better. There is a white versione of Maui system, which is perfect for corporate gigs. For your HF mics, on such a small event, i wouldn't even bother making frequency coordination on WW and external antenna. Especially with Axient Digital, you can just use the two passive antennas and do a group scan it work's great.
You should look into investing into some Column array speakers for places like that. We have a powered pair and they have been great for small corners. Or if the client doesn't want to see big honking 12" PA speakers up front. But great job there you made it happen.
@@SilverCreekAudio A small bose compact would do that job easily - you could probably get away with some smaller gear e.g a Shure Touchmix - cant go wrong with a HH each though - I use Shure 185 or even 184 lapel mics - combined with an automix system works a treat. DPA headsets are good but sometimes corporates are not keen on them - nice video! - you should get an assistant :-) to help you with that load in!
nice job! can you tell me what you used for the speaker stands? What size plate was the post mounted into...and did you need to sand bag? Very clean set up. I noticed you didn't have the speakers aimed downward a little. I'm assuming it was becuase those boxes don't have a two position option underneath??? Hope to hear back from you. Thanks man. I appreciate the upload,
I would aim them down if they had another position like a QSC but honestly this worked fine. It's a 37 pound base (don't know dimensions) and I usually put two 25 pound sand bags on them (no sure why i didn't this time). Thanks for watching!
Nice little job. Reminds me a lot of the jobs I like to do. Do you always give the talent handheld mics? I would probably have done headsets for something like this.
Yeah I can't stand that we have moved to either Bluetooth or devices without headphone jacks it certainly is nice to keep a device topped off while it's plugged in to Audio. There's a few products out there that way you do audio and charging definitely worth it.
How do those casters work for you on gravel, dirt and so on? If you could tell me the model name I would be really thankful! Thank you anyway, great video!
Love it when you get asked for a business card after a show…that’s how you always know you did well!
If everything goes well nobody knows we're there! So you're right, it's always super cool and gratifying to be seen!

I'll look into it! Thanks for watching!
I’m also looking into column speakers for low-profile setups. So I’m pleased to read about this 👌🏻

LD systems Maui 28 G2 here. Very feedback-resistant

Thanks for the kind words Mark! Always cool to hear from other people in the area! Thanks for watching man!

Thanks Chris! Good call on the sandbags!

Thanks, Anthony! It’s awesome to hear from another audio engineer. Thanks for your support!
GREAT WORK SIR
Thanks a bunch! Glad you liked it!
That’s awesome that you can swing such a nice van with those smaller gigs! Corporate gigs must really be paying off! :)
Haha, right? Gotta love those corporates! They really help level up the van game!

Hey, thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Keep uploading these! Very fun to watch
Will do! Thanks for watching man!

Nice setup. 👍🏽🔥
Thanks man!
Yeah, so … we’re gonna need your sound system to be loud enough and sound beautiful and be completely invisible.
They would’ve ticked me off internally 😂 but you gotta do what you gotta do and the client has to compromise on some things too
@silvercreekaudio check out K-Array systems for very discreet, great sounding line arrays!
Lovely job. Can you share how much was the gig vs the hours for the production? Cheers!
I like to lock the Shure mics on so the speakers can't turn it off.

Looks like the clients were happy!
What's the song at 7:56? It sounds sooo good!
Nice little job. Reminds me a lot of the jobs I like to do.

Thanks dude! It just depends on what the client asks for. They like the handhelds.
Yeah I can't stand that we have moved to either Bluetooth or devices without headphone jacks it certainly is nice to keep a device topped off while it's plugged in to Audio. There's a few products out there that way you do audio and charging definitely worth it.
I like your videos. very helpful ideas. are you using Axient Shure mics?
I'm using ULXD2/SM58s. Thanks for watching dude!
Can you tell me what ramp that is? I’m gonna put one in my Nissan van if I can!
It's called a Link LSR90. Thanks for watching!
Great job. Do you prefer 58 to beta 58 just as your where all 58 i use beta 58 i find that they help alot more with feed back
It depends on the situation but If I owned a Beta58 i would have used them here!
where do you get the rack case from?
The rack case is a Gator case from a big retailer. The road cases are from a local maker. I would urge you to find a local craftsman if possible!
How do those casters work for you on gravel, dirt and so on?
If you could tell me the model name I would be really thankful!
Thank you anyway, great video!
Gravel's going to be tough, but dirt and grass are fine. There should be an link in the description for the caster board. Thanks for watching!
12:34 it's Art Of Drumming channel's intro!
lol that's awesome!
May i ask what is the speaker stand u are using?
It's a Chauvet Flex Stand. Thanks for watching!
nightmare load in hahahaha
lol it'll happen.. the wheels help for sure!
hi bro how are you after long time watching your videos 😍
Thanks for watching man!
how much is the rental cost for that simple set up.?
Yes it is very interesting for me too. A lot of stuff and boxes just for 4 mics )) IT is enough to use analog mixer there!
What stands are those?
Chauvet Flex Stand. Link should be in the description. Thanks for watching!
Gotta do a better job with the cables when it’s in that visible an area!
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching.
