This is outstanding! Legendary and truthful! I grew up fishing from Miami 2 Everglade City chokoloskee. I was born in 1966. And Everglades City chokoloskee and also down to Flamingo. The most magnificent time ever. Even when I met my wife in 1988 and to the 90s I could still find incredible fishing in Everglades National Park. Now the environment has been destroyed. For me at this point at 53 years old I'm all for complete no fishing zones. Because we have to protect these sanctuaries of beauty. To leave something for our children.

Had the pleasure of fishing with Chico and my father. I distinctively remember him casting at a redfish pushing a wake. Right out in front of flamingo. Was also privileged to be apart of an article he wrote back in 86’. I’m sure he has some fond memories of my dad Don Ingram. Thanks for the memories.

Last 1:30 about appreciating where we are when we are out is beautiful. Any hunter or angler who doesn't appreciate the beauty of the places we get to ply our passion is missing out!

Yep, they really are. Sometimes we all get caught up by how many and how big, but we have to remember that this is not the reason we are out here. It's the whole experience in a beautiful place with great people, doing what we love. Chico does a great job explaining that.

One thing to add about those kite fights is that we used to attach a red rag in the tail to let others know that you were a fighting kite lol. If you had the red "flag" that meant you were a fighting kite. If not it then wasn't cool to try to cut your off.

Hearing both Chico and Steve Huff talk about why they love snook... I could feel that in my soul. They put it into words about as well as could be done, I think.

I met Chico back in 1988 or 89 as he was in Pennsylvania preparing to fish at Martha’s Vineyard with the owner of the fly shop where I worked. I had to mind the store when they went to the Vineyard, but heard all the stories of his trip. A terrific gentleman and great fisherman.

Vernon Barrington was the guide who Chico was fishing with in North Carolina for the big red drum. His 22 ft boat was a Penn yan with a tunnel drive specifically to navigate the shallow sand bars around Oregon inlet. Vernon built a spotting tower to spot the red drum and was one of the first to use this technology for and was an excellent fisherman and guide out of Oregon inlet.

Wow! What a great show. I remember Capt. Bill Curtis talking about Rocky Weinstein making short fly rods for those big snook on the Tamiami trail. This show is a gem.
