I recently started working inspection after being a machinist for 15+ years and was impressed by how accurate the metrascan black can be. Knowing how much the c-scan and globe cost, I understand why the performance is so high. I'm still learning a bit but merging multiple scans and also the angles available while using both is amazing. Btw, why isn't there a depth sensor light on the screen or the globe? Is it a setting that needs activated?
Yes I don't think people understand what it takes to develop and manufacture a highly accurate system. Its starts with ISO certification, design, prototype, test, change, update, manufacturing, software development, training, support, marketing, distribution, overhead etc. As far as your question about a depth sensor they are led lights that change color based on how close/far away you are as you scan.
I hope that this isn't a silly question. Is it possible to scan an item and have realistic colouring on the final image. I want to be able to read markings, stencils, labels etc. and see the body colour of individual components.
