    The thing about UY Scuti is despite being much larger than the sun it only contains about 7-10 times the mass of the sun.

      @@vertex1089 UY Scuti is large but theres actually very little actual matter there for its size. The Sun's gravity is 274 m/s² but UY Scuti's gravity is only 0.003162 m/s². Compare that to Earth's gravity at 9.807 m/s² and you'll see theres very little matter over a large space in UY Scuti. Even Mars' moon Phobos (which is only the size of New York City has more gravity at 0.0057 m/s². So basically New York City has stronger gravity than UY Scuti. Size does not matter with gravity a 12 mile neutron stat has a gravity of about 10000000000000 m/s2. It's about how much matter and density.

    So if the earth was a grain of sand, the sun would be a football, and UY Scuti would be a football stadium (take it with a grain of salt, sizes differ from one source to another)
