      @@TM_Da_Destroyer sorry took so long to get back to you. I was probably at work when I read your comment. And had to get back to work before I could reply. And forgot. Anyway I'm sure you figured it out by now. But usually from my experience with these amps. When they would go into protect. My voltage had dropped below 9 volts. This is back when I was running stock electrical on a Taramps smart 3k. But I learned how important a solid electrical is! When wanting to play my system full tilt for demos! Still took me time to get where I am now. Because I kept spending money on bigger amps and bigger subs! We see the amps and subs! So we think we have something badass! But in reality with a shity electrical. We really would have been better off with entry-level subs and amps! So my advice for you and anyone else reading this comment. Please buy a bigger alternator and I recommend a lithium Bank because of weight and room! Then get your subs and amps! I know just like I did I wanted bass now! But if you take my advice you'll be thanking me later because you won't drop voltage you won't go into protect and you be giving demos all day long!👍😎💯💨💨💨💨💨

    Running the bass 3K into two 2 ohm fosgate p315s in my truck. Thank you for explaining the multimeter adjustment math is through the speakers and not the amp! A genius friend of mine told me to set the moltmeter based off of the square root of the amps RMS and not the subs RMS. Those subs together are 1200 w RMS. And the amp is 1900 RMS at 2 ohms I knew something did not look right when that gain was at almost 3/4 up. Now it's at the right setting at 34.6 instead of 52 way too high

    • @bassjunkie2020
      @bassjunkie2020  3 года назад +1

      Yeah you can use the amps rms or the subs. Just make sure you use the lowest one. That way you don't blow the other. And it looks like you did that! Good job👍😁💯

    I have a Taramps MD3000.1 1ohm, in wondering if I can run it at 4ohms? I went to the website and they don’t post the RMS output of the amp at 4ohms, only 1 and 2 so I’m unsure.
    I’m trying to get the amp down to 1200watts until I can replace the subs I blew. Saw that you haven’t been active in the past 6 months but I’ve been basically binging the videos to get more knowledge of these things.

      @@midwestsavage00 There is no half gain, three-quarter, sixty two point six six percent gain, The gain is telling the preamp circuit what the signal input voltage of your source unit is. Your signal might peak at 3 volts, Timmy peaks at 1.25 volt and mine 5 volt. setting the gain correctly and telling the preamp circuit it needs to amplify the input signal by X, The output on the amplifier will see a peak input voltage of 7 volts to base your bass off of lol, You, me and Timmy's (The voltages are just theoretical) so just cause you aren't turning the pot past half its turning range does not mean you are getting any less than Billy at "3/4 rotation". This is extremely important to understand this and the amp literally has a clip light and visual meter telling you where to set it for max clean signal from the amp, given your driver(s) can take it. Turn EVERYTHING all the way left and only set the gain if using a smart 3 for subwoofers.
