    Just hope we get rid of almiron and Wilson . Possible trippier too if it’s to bring extra funds . Tripps isn’t the player he was , Wilson has an horrific injury record and almiron isn’t good enough ( although he does give 100% )

    I don't believe Newcastle are In trouble with PSR, but I think they're happy for everyone to believe they are.
    Our financial year hasn't finished, money is still coming in, and no one knows other than the owners what the books show.
    It was reported a couple of months back that a share was sold, which raised 37m to cover any PSR issue.
    No one even mentions that or the fact the club could do it again if needs be.
    The alternative is we're in trouble.
    A trillion dollar investment fund is going to look extremely silly.
    They can't balance the books of average size PL football club.
    Very very embarrassing!
    Heads would roll.
    If we've scope for sponsorship (which we have) and this has been allowed to happen, why has no one been sacked?

    • @GeordieJournos
      @GeordieJournos  10 дней назад

      Not saying trouble, but from conversations we've all had, we, like others, are of the understanding a sale seems the most likely way out of a shortfall. Would be unbecoming to miss a target like this, especially all they've said. Only time will tell. - L

    • @craiglee3653
      @craiglee3653 10 дней назад

      @GeordieJournos If there's a shortfall, we'll be in trouble as Masters and the PL are desperate to teach us a lesson.
      They never wanted the takeover to happen.
      I'm happy to wait to see.
      I'm not worried about any potential shortfall as I see the owners as proper business people who wouldn't take the risk with Masters and the PL watching every move waiting for a mistake.
      We'd be giving them the opportunity to make an example of us they've wanted since day one of the new ownership, show us who's boss, so to speak.
      Obviously, we'll see in the next few days if this is just a smokescreen to do other business on the quiet.
      Eddie is the master of saying a lot without giving anything of value away, I'd like to think people behind the scenes are the same.
      It never makes sense to show your hand early, but bluffing starts the minute you pick it up.

    First, how moronic is it that the PSR/FFP soft deadline is in the middle of a transfer window?
    Second, why is PSR/FFP tied to income, which as we've seen with the Villa/Everton deal, can be finessed? It should be tied to debt, which is the real danger for a club's existence.
    Third, why has the loss limit not been adjusted for inflation in more than a decade?

    Football has always been a cutthroat industrie and kids are always jettisoned through the youth system but that is because for whatever reasons they do not reach the required performance levels. But hawking a kid around the doors because he has reached the required performance levels and members of the senior management have not done their jobs is just wrong.
    In my opinion buying a kid having absolutely nothing to do with his development ( not even judging him within the group) and then moving him on like a piece of meat in my opinion is very very ethically questionable and is certainly not how I want my club to behave.
    This is of course if reports are to be believed.
    Before I’m told oh it’s not the club it’s PSR I will stick to the rule my mam taught me 2 wrongs will never make a right

      With the money involved and the level the club are aiming at we could harm a player's career by hanging on to them when they could be getting game time elsewhere. With how selling homegrown players massively benefits clubs these days the problem of questionable ethics rests with who created the rules, not the clubs who have to follow them and compete.

    PSR should be means tested/adjusted for geographical location.
    Chelsea etc. selling real estate in West London raises more revenue proportionally than if the same property was sold in Newcastle/Liverpool. Same goes for profit made from match day hospitality & even merchandise......you can charge double down South (where wages are higher) - 1 flat amount across the league regardless of location tilts the balance in favour of certain clubs & against others
