  • Alaska Airlines Flight 1152 SEA-OAK
    Registration: N973AK
    MSN: 43346/7418
    Delivered March 2022
Taking off to the south on runway 16L/34R headed to Oakland on this rainy late summer evening. That's actually a rarity in the Northwest these days, as summers have become hotter and drier on average.
Starting around 4:40 into the video, we got a beautiful view of Commencement Bay and the Port of Tacoma along with downtown Tacoma, Old Town, North End, Ruston, and then a brief glimpse of the Narrows Bridge before we pass through the clouds. Apologies for the blurriness and focusing at times. Night and especially the rain add some difficulty when using a phone to record video.
This aircraft was produced in 2019 for SCAT Airlines (Kazakhstan) during the initial MAX groundings, but not taken up. It was delivered to Alaska Airlines in March 2022. Alaska flies nine MAX 9 aircraft that were initially produced for other customers and stored for a few years during the groundings (registered N971AK-N979AK).
Having trekked back and forth across the US on 737NGs for 2+ decades, I can't say enough about how much of an improvement the MAX is in terms of comfort and noise. I look forward to many more flights on it.
    Thanks for watching!
