Songs and Tributes as HRM, the 13th Asagba of Asaba journeys to be with God and his ancestors

His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba,
Professor Joseph Chike Edozien I, CFR, MD, DSc, FRCP, FRCPath, FAS, JP,
was born on 28th July 1924.
He reigned as the 13th Asagba of Asaba for almost 34 years having been crowned on 1st July 1991. His journey to be with God and his ancestors was announced on the 13th of February 2024. In his life, Asagba was recognized as an accomplished and internationally respected academic, scientist, and Nigeria’s fourth and oldest living professor. He was a highly revered Royal Father, a foremost traditional ruler who was honored to have presided in the Traditional Rulers Council at Federal and Regional levels and served the Asaba Kingdom for 33 years.
Asagba is fondly remembered as a man who combined deep intelligence and humor with heart, tradition and modernity with wisdom, the secular and the scientific with understanding and his professional and family life with love. May his memory inspire us and his spirt continue in peace and love in the hereafter.
