Great discussion. To Jennifer's question: The GLP1s are not like steroids or SARMs. You can't cycle them. The GLP1s have to be kept at a sufficient weekly concentration so they stay in the therapeutic range. I'm speaking mainly of A1c. For weight loss, there might be more leeway.

@@rebeccamcclellan5284 What evidence do you have for the claim that medication is lifelong? Those who are on it for weight loss don't really need to stay on it once they've reached their goal weight. However, I believe they should go off the medication gradually so as not to trigger weight regain or food noise.

I disagree. In my experience, I cycle it cuz while in my foundation laying period I created phenomenal habits.

GLP-1's should be cycled once the receptor sites have become overloaded. See Jay Campbells discussion upon this topic. if you have been on a GLP-1 for many months even at low doses (as in not ramped dosing) the body very slowly becomes less receptive to the effects. Going off the peptide for 8-12 weeks resets the receptors & allows you to come back on with great effect. After many months of being on GLP-1's, if you have a good diet, do weight workouts, good sleep, optimised hormones etc all the things Dr Tyna talks about, you will find that you dont put on weight again & rebound. Self study on this topic (as with most of this being health responsible) is super important, learn, study, get invested in YOURSELF if you want to be the best you can be.

    • @VernCrisler
      @VernCrisler 16 дней назад

@@Mark-ks9jj No, GLP1 drugs don't work like that. See Dr. Dan's discussion of this. He is a pharmacologist while I believe Dr. Tyna is a psychiatrist. But it wouldn't matter what their credentials are, because as Dr. Dan pointed out the trials involving these drugs were conducted over several years with tens of thousands of participants. There was no cycling whatsoever, none at all. And yet participants kept the weight off, or A1c low, as long as they were taking the drugs. It had nothing to do with receptors.

Skin issues, the doctor said it herself. She changed what she was eating and it got worse. The absolute best way to eliminate skin conditions is 90 days carnivore. It's the best elimination diet to allow your body to heal. Thousands can testify to this including me. You also need to be cognizant of what you're putting on your skin and hair and laundry. I don't use anything that's sold at Walmart or the drugstore. I'm 70 years old and have zero health conditions. This was not always true. I healed from a multitude of things! Looking for a magic pill is not the way to health.

Fellow carnivore here too, totally agree with your comment. I’ve been eating this way for almost a year now, I’m in my 60’s, on no medication, my body is healing slowly from several chronic conditions and my mental health is the best it’s been my whole life. I was headed towards the grave, now I have a second chance at living a long life.

I’ve had to be my own advocate, insisted on HRT then when that NP refused Testosterone, I went to a MD and she prescribed it. GLP-1, HRT inc Test has made all the difference in my health & well-being! If doctor isn’t current with new medicine or refuses you, find a new doc.

In Portugal, my doctor just prescribed Liraglutido (a GLP-1) with a pen that is prefilled but allows me to set the microdose.
She suggested .3mg daily - so I am assuming this peptide is short acting. And I can go up to .6 - with the standard dose being 3 mg. She is a huge proponent of microdosing.

I’m curious for your patients taking Semiglutides or Terzepitides for autoimmune conditions at low doses, how long it takes them to see real improvement in their inflammation. Do these medications alone put some/most patients into remission? (assuming they’re following all the other healthy eating, sleep, stress reduction, etc).
I’ve seen people take these meds and have their RA pain almost gone in a week or two, but I don’t know that it’s the norm.

I personally started noticing a change in pain and mobility about a week into treatment. Within a month I was feeling really good, zero weight loss lol but my a1c went down to normal, It also regulated my periods surprisingly. Mind you I didn't start taking this shot for any of this only lowering my a1c. I started out on a mini dose (half the standard starting dose) because I was scared of the side effects and was so surprised by the other beneficial effects.

I already eat fairly well, but I have always struggled with how much I eat. I also get cravings especially when I’m hormonal.
GLP-1 treatment (compounded from Levity) so far has been a game changer for me. I’m on the 10 unit dose currently. It’s only been 4 days but WOAH, my mood /energy/sleep has improved. This I know, because I’m about to get my period and I started to PMS right before I started the shot and then after I took the shot, my normal crazy PMS dissipated. I’ve lost about 5 lbs of what I believe to be water weight. But the appetite control is so unbelievably helpful. Instead of stuffing my face or constantly feeling hungry, I am able to control how much and when I eat!
I have high cholesterol, and am about 30-40 lbs overweight, but obesity runs in my family - so does heart problems. Now that I’m 32 I really want to change my habits now before things get worse! I am also a candidate for colon cancer so I’m happy to hear it can help prevent it.
There are people out there who need this medication desperately- but they are afraid to try it because of all the commotion!!! I’d say talk to your doc to see if you’re a candidate and just TRY it! If it could really help you, why wouldn’t you want to try it!

So when a person gets to their goal weight after taking Wegovy or Zepbound, and they are on a lower dose for maintenance…. will their body become tolerant to that and gain the weight back because it won’t be effective overtime anymore?
If so, why is it said that people with obesity is a disease and they have to take it for a lifetime??

I love DR TYRA butttt…also she is coming off a little greedy to me. I totally feel the same about her going on this tour promoting “her” micro-dosing plan. And like you said she doesn’t take patients….AND she won’t recommend functional health or regenerative health practitioners that can help.
Therefore, I conclude she doesn’t REALLY want to HELP people and she’s not really accessible….and people are sick from this medication. I feel like it’s a little sketchy to practice that way. At LEAST offer a list of people that took your courses..or come up with a certification program. 😒
Another idea is offering a more affordable version of the micro dosing courses for the public that is not for clinicians.
DR. TYRA come on now… I understand wanting to get paid for your knowledge….but you need to rethink some things in your approach. Totally feels like you’re just hoarding information that can help people.
