Wow. This is one of those weird cases where more work was put into the ED than into the OP.

Steins; gate always leaves a cliffhanger in the end of each episode, so it's normal for the ending to be epic and hype the viewer for the next episode, look at the ending music in the first season at the end of each episode, and you will get my point here. That's one of the elements that makes this show perfect btw.

0:22 Mayushii walking through the fragments of Okabe's broken identity. Cracked cell phone represents him giving up his mission to save Kurisu, as well as casting aside his Kyouma personality.
0:39 Okabe quite literally breaking down, the facade of the fearless and heroic scientist cracking apart.

Steins Gate 0 is now seeing Mayuri alive, but experiencing pain and loneliness from losing her childhood friend who is slowly drifting away from her, starting from their bond that is Okabe's persona of Hououin Kyouma.
Not just that...There is much more to Mayuri in SG0... But I won't spoil.
Scharlach Nachtfalter Much more Mayuri is a good thing. Need something to balance sad scientist whose mad days are behind him. Real talk, loving S;G0 so far.
If S;G was the breaking of Okabe, S;G 0 is the straw that breaks the FGL's back...

I like the Kyoma's spinning around with a laughter that would indicate his madness from countess experiences of different word lines. Countless leaps, can you imagine? I believe the VN tells of a part where he had to do 3000 leaps!

God tier ending. Basically, recently some animes were cool, but I couldn't really get hooked on something. But this... definitely worth waiting.
I really hope there is another season. I cant see myself ever hating these characters no matter what, and the plot is so witty in so many ways. And it makes you think, and wonder if worldlines really do exist, and if so what theyre like. And the finale was tear-jerking for me. Best anime ive ever watched, hands-down.

Like other games in steins;gate universe, or drama CD.
For example the one where Ocabe jumps into gamma worldline. Worldline where his parents died and where he became a rounder
@@miniespeon158 there will not be another season cause it was originally a visual novel but the story still continues through the SCIADV series which steins gate is apart of (just dont watch the anime read the visual novels the anime adaptations are really bad)

Now what if I told you that Steins;Gate was just the second part of a longer story?
This Ed really nailed it with the music, color, pacing and setting choice. I like how it represents okabes madness and sadness so well in the never ending loops on his search for Christina.
The Opening song is really good too but i feel like it wasted so much potential with the stand still and bland scenes. The visual scenes need some work. They didn't showcase more of the complex feelings that this show is famous for. Only good part is when okabe is trying to catch Christina but passes through her.
Well Christina was the fake name Okabe gave her cuz he couldnt actually pronounce her name. Her real name is Makise Kurisu (but this was a yr ago so im sure u know that by now lol)

This song strongly resembles Steins;Gate 0. Here’s why: “Orbit of photon and universe, I am just a part of its plan.” That means Okabe has to deal with the fact that Makise Kurisu is dead. Time decides what happens in life. He is just an electron floating around the atom, revolving around it. The last game is basically him trying ro get into the Steins Gate worldline saving both Mayushii and Makise Kurisu.

I know this is 3 years too late but a photon is not a proton or electron. The line you quoted isn’t hinting that Okabe’s situation is similar to an electron orbiting a nucleus. Search up “photon sphere” and find it’s Wikipedia article.

The world fails to understand the greatness of Steins Gate. It's not about time travel anymore.
The gate symbolises Okabe's responsibility, a gate he must cross to beat time or get beaten by it.
0 is where he gets beaten, and S1 is where he beats time

If anybody has played the VN, they would instantly relate with this setting of empty desert and hostile winds. It's the same setting of Okabe's nightmare he had about seeing Mayuri 70 million years before. And SG0 connects that further, and the opening portrays that setting beautifully. That's what I feel

Hasan This pretty much gave a definitive answer to what happened to Okabe in the SG0 final ending. I semi hoped he could make it ;_;
He succeeded in the end, but with a lot of sacrifices behind..
Hasan He definitely successfully saved mayuri, else kagari wouldn't appear in milk way crossing. But I think when he got to them suzuha either already died, or couldn't go with mayuri. Both 0 suzuha and 0 Okabe must have died in the true ending. This ed is so similar to the dream okabe had in the original, where he and Mayuri was in 70 million years ago. Then he also had the dream of being trapped in event horizon and ultimately died by being jellified. Which is so similar to the chasing scene in the OP. In the drama cd arclight, mayuri and suzuha indeed were trapped in event horizon after operation arc light.
Yep you right, Okabe knew they lacked fuels, but not knowing the success of the operation (smacking okabe) he will travel back in time to help and be sure, then they will be blocked 70 million years in the past.
I never noticed but yes Suzuha is surely dead..

They should have used this ending in the second part because it hints many thing that are happening now. I think it suits better, especially now that mayuri is more relevant and not amadeus like the first half

Have mentioned that Kurisu is basically potrayed as Theresa from Space Battleship Yamato in this ED? Fucken hell!!! Did I only now just realized that after all this time? I've watched SBY 2199 before S;G0 came out. But now that I've watched SBY 2202 as well, and had came back to see this ED again, I just lashed out at myself for how obvious it was!

Seeing this after finishing the game made it so much more powerful. There is a scene where mayuri says the following...
"I love Okabe Rintaro...
But i love Hououin Kyouma even more!"
Basically begging for the old mad scientist who once saved her to come back, but then later on she says...
"I love Hououin Kyouma, but there's someone i love even more...
Okabe Rintaro!"
The whole vega and altair analogy is just so depressing, mayuri can never be okabe's Orihime, and he can't be her so beloved Hikoboshi because he already has his Orihime. Mayuri truly loves Okabe, but she must live with the reality that they can never be together in the way she truly wants it, if you think about it Okabe was not the only one who sacrificed something, as he finally got to reunite with his beloved Orihime in the end, but mayuri - She'll never have her beloved Hikoboshi, and he won't ever know it.
This scene is also available in the anime
