It is just a fabulous car to watch in action. The poise & fenese of the car during the Rally is testament to the driver & his team of technicians & engineers.
I saw your previous comment, yes, they are not registered as Volvo 260. But according to all entry lists etc they are Volvo 260. So while they are not the real deal, they're pretty close. :)
Great to see 260 rally video and indeed the PRV sounds very different from the regular Volvo 4 cylinder . Greetings from NZ and thankyou for sharing . 👍
Indeed these 262/264 B27 with Getrag M51 5 speed stick were available on earlier model 1975-76 with Dana 1031 diff... 1977 onward Volvo phased out Getrag M51/M50 in favor of inhouse M45/46.
BIUTIFULL 262/264, POWERFULLs VOLVOs CAR ....MAYBE WITH THE BIG 164 , THE GREATESTs WITH THE SCREAMING PRV6 ALUMINUM-LIGHT ENGINE ON IT ... AND WHAT's SWEDISH DRIVERs !!! GREAT MOMENT ... I STILL HAVE MANY 264 AND A TALBOT TAGORA CARB ENGINE TO FIX ON IT .... I HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT .... RESPECT FROM BELGIUM .
@@Volvette1991 no it isn't, the roof has the same height as a regular 240 and 260. The car is either imported from the USA, where 262s (without the C) were in fact sold new or the mechanics modified it to two door while converting it for rallying. Or maybe it's just a 242 with a V6 in it. The roll cages in those cars make it stiff enough to not collapse.
There's a Bertone driving in regularity (not roaring its engine etc). I chose not to add it in this video, but on an afterthought, maybe I should have included it in the end. :)
Yes it does. However, in all entry lists it is listed as a Volvo 260. The Red one at 1:10 as a 262C. Their registrations say otherwise, but they have undergone severe modifications. There is a real 262 Bertone drivning in regularity, however, that one is not included in this video as it is not a rallycar, but a regularity one.
I had owned Volvo 740 GL and 940 classic.I don't forget driving feel of them even now.Volvo is one of greatest maker in the world I think.

Those PRV engines sound awesome🤘

Is the 262 the same layout as the 264, only with 2 doors?
1:10 is that a 262 with a stick ?
2 door manual V6 are hyper rare

if this really 262 coupe (not bertone), It's a shame to use it in the rally.
Very rare Volvo...
on 1:10 really 262c.. Oh noooo
Autos sind zum fahren da!
Isn't the 262 just a PRV powered 242?
@@nilssjoberg2522 it's 262c, Look at the taillights!!
@@nilssjoberg2522 correct, all of them is regular 242/244 with som details from 260

Sadly there is no Bertone in this video. At most it's PRV. No chop tops here

Are all of these cars the 2.7l v6?
Later ones were 2.8l. Same engine block as the DeLorean DMC-12
Well, if you check the registration number it says it is a 242...

Where is the Volvo 262C ???
According to ewrc and other sites, there's a 262C at 1:10. Arne Rådström.
@@SwedishRally 262C Bertone can only look like this, the body is quite different from the classic 262 ruclips.net/video/7fBvYdylAGU/видео.html
