    Drag strip is a whole different animal than running them on the street. Addictive too! With the way you ran it, that bike has a 7.8 in it. And that’s pretty fast for a stock production bike.

    This was really good content. Comin off the line hard would take so getting used to. Is the tire going to break loose? Is the front end coming off the ground; don’t want to loop out! Lol. Good stuff brother!

    Don’t know how long you were out there,but I’d say you did well for your first time racing the 1/4mile. Ya gotta,get that tire sticky/heated up,and nobody ever does well with the tree-stand waiting on that “Green Light” is nerve wracking. Great advice on watching out for that second yellow it’s all about practice and timing. As well as keeping that throttle pinned,Respectfully I’d seen you were rolling off the throttle and or getting off it and then pinning it again. Long day @ the tracks are Definitely 👍🏻 awesome as was seeing this video,takes a lot of heart to get out there and race, Especially a test bike that was classic. Thanks 👍🏻💯👍🏻For Sharing This With Us!!! Pete

    Word of advice the guy in the exit lane gets to exit the track first to avoid collisions. I seen on the last run the exit was to the left but you were ahead of the guy in the left lane.
    Other than that you did awesome kept getting better with each pass I'm sure you could get an even faster time with more experience with the bike

  • @johngilbert1047
    @johngilbert1047 Год назад +1

    Not sure if you’re aware…your elapsed time has nothing to do with your reaction time. The clock starts when you break the start beam. The reaction time is how fast you leave the line. 7.91 is respectable for a first time out.

    Why are you chopping the throttle and using the clutch? The bike has Gearshift Assisant Pro, no need to do either. Just keep the throttle wide open and pop it into the gear. Much faster that way!

    Looks like your BMW is slightly faster than my 1203 CC Buell. I ran 12.77 @ 107 MPH in the 1/4 mile. I had several runs with in 0.02 of each other I won a dial in races by 0.050 I had a dial in of 12.7 and I ran 12.77 The guy racing me had a 12.75 dial in and he ran with in 0.0501 of his dial in time thus I lost by 0.0199
    My eight mile times were 8.3 @89.5 MPH .. Other guys lost against me because they went faster than their dial in time to try to beat me .
    My Trap speed was 110 MPH on the one run I relighted on .. One time I rolled through the beam and backed up .. but still got a red light ..I guess I didn't back up fast enough.
