    Your videos are so helpful! We're originally from SA, have been living in England for 12 years and now seriously considering immigration to NZ for a safer and better upbringing for our boy. Thank you for all the insights.

    Wow great pronunciation of Te reo Māori, most kiwis are too lazy to even give Māori language a decent shot. Means a lot to us Māori. Ngā mihi nui e hoa, thank you friend.

    The money is so pretty! Just had to edit! It is so true about the negative nannies! We are starting the process (please keep us in your prayers) and I was almost put off by the negativity about the high cost of living, but I'm going to focus on the positive change this will be for us to move. Greetings from South Africa (for now) ;)

    Hi Jen, after watching your videos repeatedly for over two years it's finally our turn..... Found out yesterday that work visa has been approved - flying out next week Friday. We're a little scared, excited and I think mostly still in shock and denial. I will first be just me and my daughter until hubby can come and join us. I just wanted to say thanks for all the videos over the years - thanks for the encouragement and all the good advice - I think your thousand words have meant so much for many of us making the move. Hope you are blessed far beyond your dreams and please keep on making your awesome videos.

    Tip: Skip the "usual" fast food in nz. I found the local mum-and-pop-(mini)diners to be much better most of the time. Also you don't get flavoured cardbord there but real meat/salad/fries ...

      The only exception I would make to that would be Burger Fuel. I swear their burgers are made from pure awesome.

    The NZ currency looks very similar to Canadian 🇨🇦 currency...colourful & plasticized. We start at $5 in bills and .05 in coin. We have $1 & $2 coins also.

    I absolutely love your channel! Even when you scare your husband and he seems to be so peace about it 😁
    I have a question:
    How hard is it to keep the house clean? I mean, are there lots of insects given the fact that you're surrounded by a garden?
    And how quickly does dust accumulate? I live in Egypt and it only takes 2 days for stuff to be covered in dust, and I stayed in Germany for a while and it takes like 2 weeks for dust to be noticeable on any neglected surface. How about Aotearoa?

    Wow... Six years old children going back home by themself... It's amazing! I would like to ask you if you know how is the school ingress for a non-English speaker child. My daugther is five years old and she knows a little English but we aren't natives. I would like to prepare her as much as I can for elementary school there.

    I found several expat forums about "moving to NZ" and I was starting to get worried by all the negative comments and wondering if this moving idea was a mistake ... and then I found a guy who said that his family had ended up in Pukekohe and what a dump it was (which was the total opposite of what Jen and others had said about the place), and then said that his uncle and cousins had ended up "in Campbelltown, which is a posh suburb of Sydney" (that's a quote of what he said!) and I nearly died laughing. Campbelltown is not posh. Not even close. It's staunchly working class and always has been. There's nothing wrong with Campbelltown. It's a good, solid, working class family suburb. But one thing it definitely is not is posh.
    It was at that moment I realised that this guy was full of it, and that probably a lot of the other whiners were too.

    I would like to know if I moved to nz can I find a casual job that doesn't need a qualification?

    • @arizonafryer4991
      @arizonafryer4991 6 лет назад +1

      Suhila Gsh it would probably depend on the area of nz as if you moved somewhere that had a lot of jobs available you are more then likely to get it, with less of a qualification. Then an area that needs people qualified in particular areas (hopefully that makes sense) and it also depends on what job you’re looking for

      @@arizonafryer4991 thanks for answering. . Iam moving to palmarstone north. .actually I had qualifications, but the problem is the language I am not fluent in English. I would like to integrate with the community in any job that can helps me in strength my speaking. Do u have any idea if iam allowed to work with out working visa ( iam accompanying my husband).?

    • @arizonafryer4991
      @arizonafryer4991 6 лет назад +1

      Suhila Gsh that’s really cool, I actually live near that city! (About 25 minutes away ). Oh yess! I believe you have to have a working visa to work because it all comes into your right to work etc (I’m not very educated on this ) but I would go onto the New Zealand working visa (and see what you need for it or just google visa’s new zealand and you should find lots of information). In terms of your English, I’m pretty sure there are heaps of free classes to help with your English and can help you find a job etc
