This song was # 1 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Italy, France, the Netherland and the UK. It was top 10 in Canada, West Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Ireland, South Africa, Sweden, and Switzerland. In the US, it spent 8 weeks as th "b"side to "Can't We Just Sit Down (and talk it over)", until focus was switched to I Feel Love. That is why there was only one single released in the US, from the album I Remember Yesterday (the album the song came from), because both sides were used. CWJSD reached the top 20 on the R & B chart, before they started promoting I Feel Love in the US. Both the album and single sold over a million copies in the US.
Sounds great Live, but to hear how amazing this song IS you need to listen to a studio version. All the instrumentals were created with a MOOG synthesizer which was groundbreaking for 1977 and paved the way for Electronic Dance music of today!! This song is in the library of Congress for being one of the most influental songs of the century.
One of the few times I will agree. The layers of the song were kinda washed out. Her voice tho... She is so missed. There will never be another vocalist like her.
The video got chopped! It’s a super long dance hit! ❤Isn’t she gorgeous? Operatically trained! It was one of the first disco hits. Listen to those beats! ❤
Giorgio Moroder who wrotes all tracks including this worldwide #1 Iconic Hit for Donna Summer established her worldwide fame as the ultimative Disco Queen. He and Kraftwerk were about 20 years ahead of their time and were the godfathers of electronic music. Moroder has won three Academy Awards: Best Original Score for Midnight Express (1978); Best Song for "Flashdance...What a Feeling", from the film Flashdance (1983) and Best Song for "Take My Breath Away", from Top Gun (1986).
I know you guys like the live stuff, but to get the experience we had when it came out, put some headphones on and groove to the studio version! Enhancements not required, but suggested
Nice reaction guys. Another song of Donna Summer's that would be great for you to check out would be Macarthur Park as even though it's classed as disco it's quite "theatrical" sounding. Then there's al her other great hits that are more disco like: Last Dance, Bad Girls, Hot Stuff, Heaven Knows, She works Hard for the Money, Love to love you baby, On the radio, and of course the duo she did with Barbra Streisand - No More Tears.
No wonder Donna has Grammy's in five different genres of music including Rock. She actually was nominated a few times for best rock. She got labeled a disco queen, but could sing any type of music.
Wow, never saw this performance! She was a really perfect singer. She was in her own world for sure. There is a 12" extended mix of this too, I think I remember it broke a record?
The Queen of Disco for sure 💃 one of my favorite song of her's is the duet she did with Barbara Streisand " enough is enough ( no more tears)" it's amazing ✌️
Guys, you should’ve listened to the studio version of I Feel Love. It’s so much more intense than the person you just watched. The long version is eight minutes and 15 seconds.
Groundbreaking song....One of the first "disco" songs to use electronics...You gotta hear the studio version to get the total effect....Donna on her goddess shit. Genre-shifting classic...
A very different sounding voice,(dynamic one), Toni Childs has a disco hit ,I think called, "Don't Walk Away". I believe you'll love the power in her voice. Donna Summer, ethereal, Toni Child, gritty.
You should watch her do Love To Love You Baby live from that same show in 1977 she's wearing that white dress and I know for sure the men in the front row had their hands down their pants!
Queen of 70s Pop & R&B amazing! 14 Top 10 songs on the pop charts. (10 were Top 5s) . Please do her sing “Last Dance” from her 1999 VH1 TV concert. Thank you!
Yeah this video definitely got cut short I have to look up a different format of live version better. Macy's thanks for this reaction she really was hot for so many years, hot.
You never lied. That beat has always been in my top 5 overall and that includes all genres and artists. Now when it comes to Disco, ABBA will always be my overall go to as far as catalogs are concerned but as far as single tracks, this egdes out every Disco tune.
This is the SHORT version! You gotta hear the long version which was played in the discos! This is my favorite Donna Summer song and yes, it definitely puts you in a trance. It was disco but it was more futuristic and European since the songwriter was Giorgio Moroder who is the man on the keyboard/synthesizer. Please also react to another Donna Summer song "Enough is Enough (no more tears)" a duet with Barbra Streisand - they sound so amazing together!
EDM music - the 1st to be a hit song and the the most popular song of that year in the world, Her other songs were disco but not this one. Check out the co-writer, producer of the song Giorgio Moroder....
The studio version was longer and better, but thanks for finding her live, never have seen/heard this song done live. HAVE to listen to "Love to love you baby" her first big hit.
Hey guys, something it is very wrong in this video! That version,it is from the Donna Summer's (1978) "Live and More" album, "I Feel Love", (original 6.54 mins. live version). You have in this reactions video a bad and short cut of the live version song. You should to hear the "I Remember Yesterday" album, "I Feel Love" (1977, one take, 5.53 mins. original studio version). That is it a really angel voices in combination with the galactic futuristic sound explotions. I will like to hear your reactios. I am a Donna Summer's fan from 1976. Her musical catalog it is very impresive with a hight quality of her vocalizations, voices, lyrics and sounds. She can sing any music styles. She was a very talented and beautiful woman and nobody can do it, as she did it. I called her: "The One Thousand Voices Girl" , and you will know why. Blessings to everybody! William Rodríguez-Zayas, from my gorgeous Island of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
Your all to young to remember the "Great anti disco movement" it was a sad time for me. But the 80s came and i loved Heavy Metal. If her beauty didn't hypnotize you. Then her voice will.
Well, to be fair, by 1979, disco all sounded the same and it died a deserved death at that point - corporate disco sucked. Same with the great 80s hair bands - I got sick them by the late 80s and grunge was a welcome breath of fresh air until it also got corporatized, too.
I really think the original studio version is better than the video...... and there is a long version of this song that lasts almost 15 minutes..... check it out
Compoed by King Giorgio Moroder and Lyrics by Pete Bellotte and Donna Summer. Moroder composed the soudtracks for Scarface, Flashdance, Top Gun, American Gigolò, Neverending Story. He is the King. 3 Oscar and 4 Golden Globe
Every dude was in love with Donna Summer. This was played at every disco party.
This song was # 1 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Italy, France, the Netherland and the UK. It was top 10 in Canada, West Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Ireland, South Africa, Sweden, and Switzerland. She was not a disco queen.. she was THEE DISCO GODDESS! Never had a bad hit EVER.
Sounds great Live, but to hear how amazing this song IS you need to listen to a studio version. I agree the studio version is stunning

Of course I danced to Donna Summer! Who could stand on the sidelines when the DJ popped her on😊 This live was stunning!!!
That tune is STILL a banger! Donna Summer is just amazing live ❤
Ladies & Gentleman, the genesis of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) 1977.
I know you guys like the live stuff, but to get the experience we had when it came out, put some headphones on and groove to the studio version! Enhancements not required, but suggested
FAB..U..LUOS!!!
LOVE THE DISCO QUEEN. "SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY" Is an all time favorite of disco dancing.
I miss her. Rest in peace your majesty❤
Ah yes our beautiful disco diva sister from Dorchester. Love her
Donna Summer - "Love To Love You"(Long Version)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Listen, I am insane. Crazy obsessed with disco! And Donna Summer is everything!
You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate is another 70's disco hit ✨️
I love "Everyone's a winner" better, though, however, that song is pretty cool, too.
@@sheila1965troubles yes the're both belters, hard to choose
Fun fact: Donna Summer lived in Munich /Germany for quite a while in the 70ties and spoke German very well!
You need to check out “Love to Love you”.
This song is bonkers !!! I love it so much !!
She had the voice and was sooooo hot
Nice reaction guys. Another song of Donna Summer's that would be great for you to check out would be Macarthur Park as even though it's classed as disco it's quite "theatrical" sounding. Great songs, all of them!
Her remake of Barry Manilow's Could It Be Magic(Extended version) is great too!!!
Donna was “easy on the eyes “ indeed!
No wonder Donna has Grammy's in five different genres of music including Rock. She actually was nominated a few times for best rock. She got labeled a disco queen, but could sing any type of music.
Such an epic song for the disco era.
Back in the day when I was a kid in the 70s she was running the radio for about a few years hot stuff!!! 70s made us very eclectic .
There are so many sing from her,: enough is enough , on the radio, hot stuff, bad girl, mac rather theme park.
Chaka Khan said that Donna Summer was the only other Afro-American she could converse with in fluent German.
Brian Eno played this song for David Bowie and said…”this is the sound of the future”.
Wow, never saw this performance! She was a really perfect singer. She was in her own world for sure. There is a 12" extended mix of this too, I think I remember it broke a record?
The album is great.
My grandma had this record, this song scared the hell out of me😂😂
The Queen of Disco for sure 💃 one of my favorite song of her's is the duet she did with Barbara Streisand " enough is enough ( no more tears)" it's amazing ✌️
the 12 inch version trips you out under headphones. it bounces back and forth
I'm 62 and have every album and 12" single. I LOVED Donna so much. She was the Queen of disco. Still is.

Changed music. Simple as that
You should watch her do Love To Love You Baby live from that same show in 1977 she's wearing that white dress and I know for sure the men in the front row had their hands down their pants!
The queen.
Queen of 70s Pop & R&B amazing! 14 Top 10 songs on the pop charts. (10 were Top 5s) . Please do her sing “Last Dance” from her 1999 VH1 TV concert.
Thank you!
I was a young teen. Never heard anything like it! She was amazing. Tune sooo nothing one had heard before! #lottalove
Loooooooove Donna! My mom would always play her albums when I was a kid.
Yeah this video definitely got cut short I have to look up a different format of live version better. Macy's thanks for this reaction she really was hot for so many years, hot.
I was a white dude in love with Donna Summer. She had 2 daughter's and married to a German. She lived in Germany.
She has 3 daughters, one with Helmut Sommer (Mimi) married in 73, and two with Bruce Sudano (Brooklyn and Amanda) married in 80.
@@mickdenis6630 cool. Thanks for the info. I didn't know all that.
Yes,, DONNA SUMMER WAS DISCO!!
You have got to hear the studio version it's hypnotic

Listen to Donna Summer’s and Barbra Streisand’s duet “Enough is Enough” - amazing!
Also,I saw her live in NYC in 1978 - phenomenal performance!

Actually, this was her live recording from her "Live and More" album that was dubbed over this video. It is longer than this on the album.
The studio version was longer and better, but thanks for finding her live, never have seen/heard this song done live. HAVE to listen to "Love to love you baby" her first big hit.

Love this !
This is a Disco classic. There's a longer version of it.

Marigo Zororogo is the fountain from which it all sprang forth
She passed away on the same day as Witney Huston, Media gave her no recognition.
MacArthur park is a great song
Still waiting for Kelly Rowland to portray this legend on screen 👀
I really think the original studio version is better than the video...... and there is a long version of this song that lasts almost 15 minutes..... check it out
BTW you do not listen to this song LIVE nope the long studio version is AHEAD.OF.IT'S.TIME
The original song is actually eight minutes long…..your version got cut a little bit….the Disco Dance recording goes on and on and on…
You guys were talking about your first white crush, she was my first black crush....
Listen to the album!!!!!!!!
Donna Summer, not Summers 😉
“There’s only one Summer!”
The studio version is far superior.
She’s the original gay pop icon even though she hated them in the 80s and preached the Bible to the queens in her audience
i love how the "too cool for anyone" guy on the right ONLY MOVES if you are black. LOL
The studio version is much better IMO. The tempo of the song is slower and is better .... more sensual.
This is really unlike anything from that era and genre that I've heard.
