Though I know you are trying to avoid mods, the immersive portals mod allows you to set up dimension stacking, where you can put the sky islands and depths in their own dimensions above and below the mainland. This keeps shadows from blotting out the overworld too.
2:20 I'm so glad you're using light blocks! When doing an epic build, there are always situations where an actual physical light-emitting block would look out of place, but light blocks are invisible when they're not selected in your hotbar, which is super useful!

I know you always talk about how difficult these builds are but you make it look effortless lol. Your ability to look at things and recreate them using what Minecraft gives you is insane. As a geometry teacher, I can say this takes some high intelligence on your end especially when considering the intuitive ability for scaling and proportion you seem to have. Honestly I think this is a perfect representation of what the great sky island looks like in TOTK. Super impressive.
for the foliage color, try an orange color. red and green make yellow, and the sky island foliage is already slightly orange, so i think it would work out well

My only critiques would be that the temple of time looks a bit slim/narrow compared to how it is in-game, and imo just some sort of regular stone eg. andesite would look better for the dark prismarine sections. Btw, I'm pretty sure you can use a super simple data pack to increase the height limit of the world, which might be worth looking into :) Amazing video!
Totk has surprisingly low amounts of sky content so you’ve basically finished most of it. Against all the marketing the game’s main story point would be the depths. I’m interest how you guys are even going to build those. Great work as always tho.

OMG this is amazing, as usual! Especially the shrine design, and obviously the temple of Time! You are a monster 😂 I must say though, I'm not sure about the blue/green blocks to represent the edges of the sky islands? In the game, the mold sometimes makes them look a bit blueish but in Minecraft, the blue sticks out a LOT imo. But everything else is perfect 👌
The other types Minecraft artists in the community literally blow my mind. Building on a scale like this is 5000x harder and takes so much longer than making skins!!! bravo :)

You could flip the island and build it bottom up when it comes to the underside, then just reflip it. I find it easier building that way, because I feel like the WorldEdit smoothing tool behaves very strangely upside down.

I'm making a sky island themed base and for the grass I used yellow carpet, the top sides of hay bales and path blocks then for the trees I used birch wood, yellow wool and concrete, and raw gold. It came out looking incredible so if you want I recommend just trying it for yourself to see what you think. Even if you don't do it I still love how it looks, you nailed the zonai buildings much better than I did.

the grass you did looks a bit green because it's adding a yellow tone ONTO the base green, it's not just making a yellow grass texture. what you want to do it make the colour a bit more in the orange direction

Kind of an embarrassing story, but I got 3 of the [SPOILER] and very close to the end with awesome gear. For fun, I looked back at an old trailer, and I was like "Wait, what is that shirt Link is wearing?" It looked like it went to the archaic legwear, and I thought maybe I missed it. I went back to the great sky island, and it was in a cave I have never seen before, literally right in front of my face. So I got one of the very first sets of armor, around 3 quarters into the game.
I’ve tried to recreate the yellow grass before and I also had to realize that it’s so difficult to match so I was excited to see what Grazzy would come up with. Well…

With the use of the imersive portals mod you could also make an interior of the first 4 shrines, however I know you're not wanting to use mods and keep it vanilla judt throwing my hat in the ring.
I've tried making full worlds before, but due to so much building and structuring, I gave up. I am very impressed that you've pulled it through and done so much! I can just feel the pain, but it's worth it! Awesome work 👍

Just got so startled when I heard Windmill Hut/Song of Storms in the background at around 21:30, and as for some other details, I think the shrines are already really cool, but at the bottom of the green-blue swirl, which is more blue, I’d suggest maybe using or trying sea lanterns because those are more blue, then maybe switch to the green frog lights already there? I think it would help keep the different colors bright while lighting it up. Amazing work though!

This is very impressive. I can't believe you don't have more subs! This is probably the most impressive and detailed build I have seen on Minecraft that has been done by a single person.
I think instead of using dark prismarine for the "greenish sky rock", deepslate with some lichen on it could look nice, especially since it's pretty accurate to the mossy dark rock in game. Also, the closest color to the zonai architecture in Minecraft is probably smooth stone, but since it has a very limited palette, quartz is a good choice. Edit: for the ice cliffs, you could maybe use a mix of stone, cobblestone, prismarine, and packed ice?
Minecraft and totk are such good games, so it’s great when the two come together, and it’s even better when a YT makes a good video about it. Keep it up! 👏👏
This is really impressive In regards to people thinking the foliage color is too green, I can see a few culprits I'm an artist and I've often found to get a yellow color to read properly I have to push it into orange slightly? Which is probably cuz our eyes are way more sensitive to green light. That's probably why the light is so golden in the sky in TotK. I also think Minecraft's atmospheric tools are hurting it? Like it adds a blue tint to imitate atmospheric scattering. It looks way more yellow in the wide shots. That said, I think this turned out absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to see more!!
This build is so amazing! I love how the temple of time turned out, and the grass and leaves color is pretty spot on. You're awesome for doing something this difficult. I have a tip! For building the sky islands, you could try making the bottom part upside down, then flipping it. You did that for the Dueling Peaks and it worked out well.
Impressive. A lot of minecraft replicas of other game worlds do not really work well, the feeling doesn't translate. Often the scale is off or the texture chosen for blocks just isn't right. I felt that this really nailed what the island looks like, it had the right degree of meticulousness for those sorts of things. Everything just sits right.
i cannot believe you did all of this while also working on (or i guess as a detour from but its the same thing its still impressive) the botw map! your skill in this is crazy! the one thing ill say is that pure yellow is between green and orange, and in most cases when one is expecting a warmer yellow and gets a pure yellow it feels really green as a result. perhaps try nudging it a little over to the oranger side? keep up the good work!
Jeez, I can only imagine the amount o effort that had to be put into this, but the bright side, this is BY FAR the largest Sky Island, the entire rest of the Sky would probably be the equivalent of only a few more of these. Looks incredible, can’t wait for what’s next!

I think instead of using dark prismarine for the "greenish sky rock", deepslate with some lichen on it could look nice, especially since it's pretty accurate to the mossy dark rock in game. Also, the closest color to the zonai architecture in Minecraft is probably smooth stone, but since it has a very limited palette, quartz is a good choice.
Edit: for the ice cliffs, you could maybe use a mix of stone, cobblestone, prismarine, and packed ice?
Minecraft and totk are such good games, so it’s great when the two come together, and it’s even better when a YT makes a good video about it. Keep it up! 👏👏

In regards to people thinking the foliage color is too green, I can see a few culprits
I'm an artist and I've often found to get a yellow color to read properly I have to push it into orange slightly? Which is probably cuz our eyes are way more sensitive to green light. That's probably why the light is so golden in the sky in TotK.
I also think Minecraft's atmospheric tools are hurting it? Like it adds a blue tint to imitate atmospheric scattering. It looks way more yellow in the wide shots.
That said, I think this turned out absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to see more!!
This build is so amazing! I love how the temple of time turned out, and the grass and leaves color is pretty spot on. You're awesome for doing something this difficult.

For building the sky islands, you could try making the bottom part upside down, then flipping it. You did that for the Dueling Peaks and it worked out well.
I like how half of the video is him letting out his repressed rage for the underside of the floating islands 💀
Impressive. A lot of minecraft replicas of other game worlds do not really work well, the feeling doesn't translate. Often the scale is off or the texture chosen for blocks just isn't right. I felt that this really nailed what the island looks like, it had the right degree of meticulousness for those sorts of things. Everything just sits right.
i cannot believe you did all of this while also working on (or i guess as a detour from but its the same thing its still impressive) the botw map! your skill in this is crazy!
the one thing ill say is that pure yellow is between green and orange, and in most cases when one is expecting a warmer yellow and gets a pure yellow it feels really green as a result. perhaps try nudging it a little over to the oranger side? keep up the good work!

Jeez, I can only imagine the amount o effort that had to be put into this, but the bright side, this is BY FAR the largest Sky Island, the entire rest of the Sky would probably be the equivalent of only a few more of these. Looks incredible, can’t wait for what’s next!
