    sir, good day.
    i have a question about steering gear emergency testing.
    in your video, you said, this testing procedure is conducted when ship speed is half ahead direction.
    my question is, why we have to slow down engine speed for carrying out this test.
    or i can say, why this test shouldn't be done in full sea speed?

      Hello MEC, thank you for showing interest. There are two test being conducted. At normal power, the test is being conducted at MCR or Max Cont Rating of your ME. MCR means 100%engine load. While for emergency power, the test is just being conducted at half ahead.
