- Courtney takes her Quicksilver MXL ultralight up to 12,000 feet.
Remember, there is a higher speed limit above 10,000, so please keep your eyes open and watch for fast traffic . . . as in airliners!

Note: A LEGAL ultralight is limited to 1 seat and requires no pilot certificate to fly. A 2-seat "ultralight" is, in fact, a Light Sport Airplane and requires a pilot certificate to fly. There is no such thing as a "legal 2-seat ultralight."
Courtney is an FAA-certified Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI).

Wow!!

Where is your altitude encoding transponder?
Not required. The AIM/FARs say "see and avoid".
@@CourtneyTakesFlight As a retired air traffic controller, commercial pilot of 50 years and a former Flight Standards Aviation Safety Counselor, I am telling you that you broke the law. Flight above 10,000 msl requires an altitude encoding transponder. I'll bet the next knock on your door will be Flight Standards. What a bonehead maneuver!
14 CFR § 91.215 - ATC transponder and altitude reporting equipment and use.
You might rename your channel, "Courtney Loses Her License."
I bet the view from up there was fantastic 👍
Yes!
Dope!
GOD BLESS FREEDOM
WOW...GOD BLESS.
What. no bikini today? 😂
LOL
Must have been cold up there. And the pilot must be a mountain goat, used to altitude......👍👍👍🇫🇷
I had winter flight gear.
awesome, that looks like one heck of an experience, in any plane, mych more so in a Quicksilver!
Totally agree!
Absolutely thrilling!
I'll agree with that!
Courtney part 103 allowed up to 17000 I did not know that. 27 degrees and of course you got wind chill. that's cold!
17,999. Above that you'll need ATC's permission and need to have equipment for IFR -- instrument flying. This pretty much makes it impossible to do so.
@@CourtneyTakesFlight Really need supplemental O2 at those levels as well unless you were born there! I got 11 hours as a student way back in the day. Found it was too rich for my blood on wages salary. I was too slow to pick things up as well. never soloed. And on top this I was scared of heights. I really enjoy your videos and especially your emphasis on safety.
Wonderful!
Thank you.
