I strictly use circle hooks for live/cut bait fishing. Been working well for me. Plus, in the event a circle hook starts to bend, it becomes a J hook. Better chance to land a fish
Can I use a gulp grub with a circle hook, and if yes - how to hook the grub onto the circle hook?
That should work, just side it onto your hook

Best way to get a ling is do standard double dropper and wait till you feel a bite from a small fish give it one small crank to c if the small fish is on and really slowly reel it in couple cranks till your rod doubles over and slowly and consistently reel without stopping
