Years ago back in the exvs days. Rainbow war is simply known as melee step clash and Rainbow step used to be known as melee step cancel and then Rainbow Dash(but then bronies were too enthusiastic about it) and then finally Rainbow step. I love how this game evolved the action cancel mechanic since SEED vs and Next Plus on the PSP. I hope you guys also post some hidden melee moveset so beginners would not be stuck on mashing the melee button and see how awesome this game is.
Update As of now Kimaris Trooper and Gold Sumo have been nerfed, so they are no longer striker meta due to patch 1.06. Also, this guide has been featured on Shoryuken! Additionally, if you wish to support me then perhaps consider buying me a Coffee! - ko-fi.com/teamfoxgg
Yeah man FF14 is awesome. Quick question, I'm having problems finding online matches in region searches, but worldwide matches are laggy as hell. Is this just my internet or am i just getting paired with far away players all the time. From Canada btw
I visited ggez earlier for Throne Drei. When i used her awakening R3 attack on Lightning burst + Eins striker, she shoots a mega beam instead of doing melee combo like mentioned in ggez.
Yeah i got the game today! Thx alot for the second tutorial I'm completely destroying my friends.now I got play good player to improve! I'm joining discord btw
Just setup a Free Battle with Hyaku Shiki and put the CPU on Stop. Tap your boost dash button repeatedly until your boost gauge is depleted to get your total number of boost dash available for the golden Zeta prototype.. The Zeta has 9 so I would say somewhere around 7 or 8 maybe for Hyaku Shiki? Idk, I'm curious now so I'll try it when I get home.
Thank you for the movement tips guide for this video. I did need a refresher on how to move effectively in the game. I did find a lot of similarities to the movement controls from gundam extreme vs and full boost. Have you ever played those games?
I had FFXIV in on my other monitor and was wondering where the music was coming from since I had it on low volume. Took a bit to realize it was from your video.
So when you say boost dash/step + step dive (backwards)...you mean backwards towards the screen? Like boost dash forward only and not to the side then make sure your suit falls backwards towards the screen? I'm having trouble replicating how you do it in the video.
Ok thank you. I think I figured it out with the offensive capabilities. Boost dash -> boost step away from target -> ranged attack -> step dive then repeat.
Trying to use Unicorn with boost dash step dive like in the video, but my step dive keep cancelling my shots, I can't figure out how you fire so many shots so quickly.
Those type of suits don't really benefit from step dive tbh, they still move like they did back in full boost which is by repeatedly switching packs to instantly regain your boost
Could you please do a video on the right timing for blocking a melee attack and how to instant burst while your getting punished. I haven't seen a tutorial or guide for that.
Hey. I do like to ask can you make a video about combo? I see a video show some combo movie animation. Chain combo after combo.. I wonder if you can make one. Much Appreciate it
Don't worry. I've been playing this series for a long time, but still lose a lot online. It also doesn't help that the community isn't welcoming at all. They boot new players from rooms. Look for my Casual lobbies and we will play!
I started out really bad, but i think i'm beginning to improve. This game has a very steep learning curve. But this game is so fun that its worth learning it
Same. I’ve been playing since extreme vs and I’m still only mediocre. This game involves a lot of brain power. Like the amount required for a 2d fighting game but with more things to account for. Can you imagine if we had to aim on top of all that?

rainbow dashes don't quite have rainbows anymore. This is probably a good thing.
THX for your Great job. This is the best tutorial ever I saw on RUclips about this game. ^__^
That Final Fantasy 14 dungeon music though!
People are finally starting to notice haha, apparently a lot of Gundam players also play FFXIV

Oh by the way, i joined your discord just a few minutes ago.
Thanks. Now I can finally go pro.

Great video!
I use the Hyaku Shiki a lot because it's my favourite MS, I can't find him in the Boost Dash Database though.

May be talk about how to use melee and step dive with suits like barbatos as a movement option in a advanced movement guide?
Great guide btw
When covering specific units I will always have a movement tips portion. I forgot to mention that at the start of the video lol
Thank you for the movement tips guide for this video. I did need a refresher on how to move effectively in the game. I did find a lot of similarities to the movement controls from gundam extreme vs and full boost. Have you ever played those games?
I've been playing since vanilla exvs
I thought the same thing! Good looking out!
I had FFXIV in on my other monitor and was wondering where the music was coming from since I had it on low volume. Took a bit to realize it was from your video.
I was waiting for a FFXIV player to comment on one of these
no boost hop rainbow step dive???

Boost dash in whatever direction you want, but make sure to step dive afterwards if stray shots are coming at you.
Ok thank you. I think I figured it out with the offensive capabilities. Boost dash -> boost step away from target -> ranged attack -> step dive then repeat.
Thanks bro

now what if I'm using a more ground based unit like rx79[G] or ez-8?

What would you recommend to practice these movements? I have a hard time in the heat of battle to remember those movements and to use them.
I can do all these moves but doing them while focusing on fightning and opponents complete headache
I've finally found a game that I'm just....Blantly bad in online.
I haven't won a single game...I just...I need a moment....

Is this an esport? Or will it become one?
This game controls gives me a headache
The Conqueror you'll get use to it.
Great video, would suscribe but your ads are frustrating and make you look like a corporate sell out.
I need proper blocking
Rainbow War looks disorienting
Pad Fighter You'll learn to deal. Gundam VS moves fast, but the longer you keep at it the more your brain clocks too it.
Bangcat well said
F14 music? Lol.
