- How to program a fob for your Toyota Highlander. This should work on most Toyotas from 2001 to 2007.

Instructions:
1) Door - Driver door open
2) Key - In and Out two times
3) Door - Close and Open two times
4) Key - In and Out
5) Door - Close and Open two times
6) Key - In
7) Door - Close
8) Key - Lock to On to Lock, Remove
(Locks will cycle)
9) Fob - Press Lock and UNlock same time for two seconds
10) Fob - Press Lock for two seconds
If locks just cycle two times, repeat steps 8, 9, and 10

Thanks man!!! Months ago i bought a 03 highlander but it only had a key. No fob. I found a key n fob from a scion, which looks a lot like the toyota from those years, i did the activation steps, did it 4 times n on the fifth, i got it!!! Thank u so much!!!

It worked the first time you did it. The reason why it cycled was because you were in the car. You have to get out if the car and press the lock button to verify that it works. Cheers.

Hi dear.Please look for a way to program the Center Lock Toyota Sequoia 2002. I have a problem that the ash device does not work. It gives a signal, but it does not lock or unlock the device. Note that all doors operate a manual center lock, please help.

How do you exit the admin mode or does it exit on its own? Also my car has never had a FOB before (atleast when i bought it used) will this still work or do i have to get it from the toyota dealer first?
It will get out of admin mode for you. You should be able to do this without the dealer.
changed some seals around the cylinder head cover of my Toyota highlander 2005 due to leaks . After placing the battery back I can not find the remote control fob so I can not start the car because the horn keep sounding and the car can not start. Please kindly tell me what I can do to start the vehicle.

Does this method work with any type of car remote or needs to be specific new Toyota remote? Right now I'm using 2 remotes one is aftermarket remote to arm and disarm the alarm and another (OEM Toyota) remote to lock and unlock the door. Thanks 👍
As long as the fob says it will work for your year, make, and model, you should be good.

I got the key fob reprogrammed, but only the driver’s door unlocks when I double click. How do I make all doors unlock when I double click?
What year make and model are you working on. Also, double click it, and check all the doors, to see if any others unlocked.

I programmed a Transponder Key for one these vehicles once we still own it and you can program up to ten keys. but need to program another fob though to match!
What’s a transponder key?

Thanks, you saved me $50= 110 litres of gas. Even though I've to watched some other videos to learn how to erase preprogrammed remotes. Yours is the only way my car get to programming sequence.

After step 10 the locks cycle twice. When I go back to step 8 and complete that step the locks won’t cycle again for some reason.
Give your local locksmith a call, and ask him how much it will cost to have him do it. Depending on your area, it might not be that expensive.
Would anyone happen to know what takes place to make the fob stop working in the first place?
All I can think of where mine in concerned, is that my sunroof leaked into the car, while out in a rain storm.
Mine stopped working after that day.
I'm going to try this procedure, and hope for the best. But I think my power locks are fried.
I'll update if this worked.
Some auto parts stores have testers. Maybe your luck, and it is your battery.

I did have to replace the battery earlier this year, and it didn't seem to effect the fob. I'm thinking that some wiring got waterlogged. It's been weeks since that storm happened, and the fob still isn't working, but the power locks seem to still be functioning properly.
I tried doing the reprogramming last night, and the locks never signaled to be ready for programming. I did it twice. Maybe it's a fuse that blew. I'll have to look into that next.

aftermarket, Clifford XR OL some sort of model, it has no signal light on the transponder unit, nor the key chain remote, tried checking their website and cant find my model, key chain also has no valet switch on it,or that i can find on the car, if i press the"*" button 3 times, it cycles through some things and headlights blink 4 times, and it does that 3 times. Actual unit doesn't even say "start" its just a "*" symbol
Not sure. It looks like on the Toyota ones, you press the lock button twice, then hold it for 3 seconds, to start the engine.
thats what i did with the "*" button, ill try it with the lock button, and report, and if that doesnt work?

Because you don't have a security light, it sounds like it has been modified. Best bet is to call your local locksmith.
tubejim101 okay. Thank you. The place for the security light is blank only the rear aC heater switch is there. Could it be that the wireless receiver has gone bad?

Can you buy one from an auto store or does it have to be from Toyota? I just bought a used 2003 Highlander and it not come with a fob.
As long as it is for a 2003 Highlander, it should work.

A locksmith can do it for you. Depending on your area, it might not be that expensive.
You need to get the right type of key fob

Dear Friend. I did all the steps in the video, but when setting the switch to the initial operation, the lock does not open and automatic lock .. What is the reason for that? Does not working
If you are not able to program it, you will need to have the dealer, or a locksmith do it for you.

I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander it has a hornet 700 T aftermarket immobilizer Alarm horn.
I was unable to program my keyless FOB.
I was moving through the process. When the door locks were supposed to cycle. They never did.
But right then, my immobilizer started alarming.
It continued 3 cycles.
As soon as I put the key back in the ignition. The 3 cycle immobilizer alarm starts all over again. I was unable to start the vehicle.
Something very unique and special happened
I had to pull the plug on the hornet immobilizer.
I think your procedure process might’ve broke a code in my vehicle OEM Keyless entry module.
Do you have any idea where the keyless entry module is located?

If you have a security system immobilizer. And the security system is activated by locking the door with your wireless key-fob. Would you not expect if the door is somehow mysteriously opened. Lets say from the inside and you pull the handle. would you not expect the alarm and immobilizer system to go off as it’s designed to do?
@@markvermeulen1372 the security system isn’t being activated when i lock the door with the key fob … all the key fob’s doing is unlocking and locking the doors. The security system is activating by itself about 20 seconds after I lock the door. All the programming did for me was get the fob to lock and unlock it did nothing with the security system smartass
@@markvermeulen1372 I do not know where the keyless entry module is located.. A lot of custom stereo shops have a guy who does alarms. I would find a shop, and pay them a few bucks to set you up. For them it is fast and easy.

Pressing unlock once should unlock just the driver door. pressing unlock twice should unlock all the doors.

@@alexle7964 Anytime you have an electrical issue, you should check your car battery. All the local auto parts stores, in my area, will test your battery for free.
@@tubejim101 I put in anew battery and the same thing happen, every 2 weeks or a month I have to come back here and see your instruction all over again. Any ideas?

My car wouldnt go into the programming mode. I made sure i did the steps and did it countless times.

The steps you do is more complicate than activate the atomic bomb button.
I did not come up with the steps. Just show them. A locksmith can do it for you. They would not charge very much for this.
You should redo this video with ONLY the CORRECT procedure. Wastes a bunch of time watching you fail and it is confusing! THANKS!!
Afraid your confusing me with a professional. I'm lucky to even get this far. A locksmith can do it for you, and they used to not cost that much. Not sure what they charge now days.
This didn’t work on my 2006 base highlander 😭. Never went through the cycle the first set of steps

@@tubejim101 I watched another video and it worked this time! When you do the second set of the key in ignition no turns, only did it once and after completing it went through the cycle
