    Agribank has charged 22,000 dong for many years. You can take out 3,000,000 dong at almost every Agribank atm. 22,000 divided by 3,000,000 = 0.73% interest. That’s under 1%, folks.

    You've shared great tips, I'm visiting Vietnam soon. This video just popped up at the right time in my RUclips feed. 😀
    I've got some questions, please guide me if possible ☺️
    1. I have watched lots of video about buying sim cards, there're mixed reviews. Some were saying not to buy one in airport while some blogs are saying it'd be great to buy sim from the airport. Please guide me what'll be better. I'll be entering Vietnam through Saigon.
    2. Will there be any communication issues when booking a Grab cab? I'm currently learning Vietnamese and I know hardly a few words like thành phố, nhà, sách, xe hơi, ngân hàng, and some phrases like cảm ơn, vui lòng and tạm biệt.
    3. Do I need to purchase any travel insurance to enter Vietnam? I have found some vloggers who are saying it's mandatory while some are saying it's not. Please guide me with this.
    It'd be great if you please help me with these questions ☺️☺️

      Namaste from Vietnam ❤️
      I am glad that the video is useful for you. Regarding to your questions, I have the answer below. 😇
      1. It’s ok to buy it at the airport. The first thing I recommend you to have after landing in a Vietnam. The price should be around 200k (or something ) for a Viettel SIM card. You can use it for one month. You should have 4GB of internet every day (if I remember it right. But basically it’s more than my normal than my data plan that I have been using for years. Mine is just 2GB/ day). Personally, I think it’s a reasonable price for a sim card tourists. We have purchased it for my boyfriend at the airport one time. After that, we just top it up every time he comes back to Vietnam. 😇
      2. No, if they text you. If you talk to them in person, having Google translate available would be wise. As not many of them can speak english well.
      Once you book the grab in Vietnam. They will know that you are not Vietnamese by your name, so they will text you in English.
      Stick to Viettel Simcard only. They have the best internet connection.
      3. It’s not mandatory for you to have a travel insurance to enter Vietnam. however, for your safety and benefit, having a travel insurance is a wise choice. I do have insurance in Vietnam too. We never know when we will need it.
      I hope this helps ❤️
      Have a good trip in Vietnam 🫶

If you hit the one that goes to the front you might topple over and these motorcycles sometimes are made in China sometimes they're made in Thailand or other countries. Do check it out before you hit the brakes.

      -> Depends on what you are using. In Vietnam, plugs type A (two flat vertical pins), type C and type F (two round pins) fit most Vietnam electrical outlets. If your power plug has 3 pins, you might need an adapter as most electrical outlets here do not include a grounding hole. Electricity supply in Vietnam is 220 Volts at 50Hz.
      2. Is there a TAX Return where we leave the country ?
      -> Yes. According to Noi Bai International Airport :
      Under the provisions of the relevant authorities, VAT refund is applied as follows:
      - Applied conditions: foreigners not bearing Vietnamese passport; not being crew member on flights from Viet Nam to other countries; purchase made at eligible VAT refund shops in Vietnam; purchase accompanied with passenger at the Airport
      - Eligible VAT refund items: belonging to VAT paid group, brand-new items, eligible to be permitted on board; not being in the list of export prohibit or export restriction; accompanied with invoice and declaration form for VAT refund valid for 30 days prior to departure date, with the accumulative value of one shop in one day at more than 2 million Vietnamese dong.
      - Procedure for refund: Passenger with eligible VAT refund items shall present passport to be provided with invoice and VAT refund declaration form and guidance. Before baggage checking and boarding pass, passenger is required the present passport, invoice and VAT refund declaration form (original copy) and the purchase for checking to obtained the “Acceptance stamp of Customs. Before boarding, passenger will present passport, boarding pass, invoice and VAT refund declaration form stamped with “Acceptance” of Customs to obtain refund at eligible banking agencies located in the departure lounge for VAT refund.
      - Refund currency: Vietnamese Dong Passenger can convert this amount to foreign currency at eligible banking agencies for VAT refund at announced exchanged rate. The refunded amount is the total VAT amount excluding service charge (service charge level will not exceed 15% of the total refund amount).

      Hello, I am glad that you find it useful. Do you have the exact dates coming here yet? Currently, it’s sunny during the day, just rains for an hour in the afternoon. If you do travel to the north of Vietnam this month, I suggest you to look at the weather forecast. As there might be a typhoon coming there.
      There are Muslim friendly restaurants in danang and Hoi an. I am pretty sure you can find them everywhere. There are vegetarian restaurants in both places too.
      Regarding clothes, probably the clothes with fabric that are suitable for the hot weather here. 🤗 beautiful skies and the nice beaches in danang and Hoi an are waiting for you this July (except for the exceptional 😅 on some days)

    Concerning visa

    • @MyVietnamDiary
      @MyVietnamDiary  Год назад +1

      Hi @PattayaMD . Which country are you from? Maybe I can give you a better advice after knowing that because the Vietnam visa regulation is applied differently for each region/ country. For example, if you are from Thailand, you don’t need a visa to visit vietnam. Or, if you’re from America or UK, you can get a one month tourist e-visa after 3-5 working days since the online application submission. In the meantime, this is the official website of Vietnam’s immigration ministry where you can apply for an evisa and find other information. xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en

    Hello. Can I use "Wise" Visa Debit Card to pay for hotels, restaurants, taxis in Vietnan ?
    I heard that CASH is more powerfull than Debit Cards.
    Thank you for your comments.

    • @MyVietnamDiary
      @MyVietnamDiary  Год назад +2

      Hello Antonio. That's a good question. Basically, you can use visa card to pay for hotels and restaurants as long as they accept card payment. You always get charged from 2% -4% for international card by the restaurant, you can ask the restaurants and hotels if they are charging that fee on top of the normal bill. If they do while you have some cash, just pay for it in cash to save the money.
      regarding taxis, I always used cash. I used to use taxis, but now I prefer grab car/ bike. (you can download the app "Grab*). You can set up the payment method on the app which is your visa card. Just link it to your grab account. Then whenever you book a grab, choose the payment method that you prefer which "Visa card". Therefore, you dont need to pay the drivers in cash.
      I attached the link related to "Wise" written by "Wise" here, in case you would like to learn more. wise.com/gb/travel-money/vietnamese-currency

    why every ones name is Nguyen?

    • @jenniechan3587
      @jenniechan3587 Год назад

      The first mass-conversion of surnames took place during the 1230s when the Ly dynasty was overthrown by the Tran dynasty. In order to remove the Ly name from existence, those with the name were forced to change to Nguyen (the reason as to why Nguyen was chosen specifically is unknown). [From google]

    Good points, thank you -- but you missed an important one. I lost over $5,800 by hiring the wrong tour company. I hired a Texas-based tour company that takes Vietnam Veterans to battlefield sites in Vietnam; we stayed in city hotels. One site (Phou Nhoi) I requested, where 34 of my Marine brothers died, required a permit. They knew before we left the USA that we would never see that site because they never got the permit. They blamed the Vietnam military when we were escorted away from the area. It took an investigation by Ambassador Marc Knapper of the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam to expose their lie. This tour company advertises in the military magazine Vietnam and only prints positive reviews making it easy for me to trust. My 55-year dream of honoring my friends, who gave their lives, was forever destroyed.

      @@MyVietnamDiary Thanks. I do not know the rules of RUclips whether I can name the company. My hero is a Vietnamese interpreter (Ms. Halan TamTran) who risked her job by informing me, after the Vietnamese Military kicked us out, that the company was lying to me. Her friend, a Vietnamese General, did an investigation that day and told her. I have no idea how many Vietnam Veterans have been scammed but I do not believe I was the first or the last.
