Brilliant video. I have a vertical ribbed buttonhole band to finish off a thigh length cardigan and I was very apprehensive about the buttonholes. This is such a simple *understandable* technique that I see myself using it many times in the future.
Oh, Dina, thank you so much! I love your lessons, very easy, very clear methods explained in a very understandable way. I'm a very beginner, your videos inspire me to go ahead with things that seem to be complicated. Thank you!!!
When the video started I was wondering why you started on waste yarn, but now that the video is over all I can say is brilliant. Such a great idea, i never ever tought about that, very clever way to make the knitting tighter, thanks so much!
I'm a new knitter so understanding the technical aspects of the machine is not in my vocabulary yet, I just try to follow directions. I am at the point of knitting the buttonhole, carriage on left. I set the carriages for partial knitting, put the needles into E position and pass the carriage to right. Then I push the 8 needles on the right back to work but not so far back they come off the needle. I then thread the carriage with the extra piece of yarn and pass the carriage to the left ( I have done this numerous times) and the stitches fall off the needles. The needles on the left side remain in hold. I have also tried it with the carriage on the right and the 8 needles on the left pushed back. They still fall off. Is something wrong with the carriage or do I need to make a change to the settings? Help!!

Thanks for another great video, I have issues with button bands, I will have to give it another go now.
Is this possible with full needle rib? Thank you!
Yes, and it's done in just the same way with the extra length of yarn.
Thanks for another great video
